Review summary

Love the ship. It is beautiful even with a few misses. Take advantage of all it has to offer. Book your dining reservations early and really enjoy the specialty restaurants. The food and the service are exceptional.

Embarkation

Embarkation went pretty smoothly. My husband is in a wheelchair so we were among the first group to board. Had a great lunch at Local Bar & Grill but then had to wait a few hours for our room to be available. Our luggage was delivered quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food throughout the ship was excellent. We really love the indulge food hall, but the space was very small and got crowded quickly. The buffet area at the Surfside café was way too small for the amount of passengers on the ship. Local Bar & Grill was one of our favorite places for breakfast and lunch. The food was excellent and it was never really too crowded. We ate at three of the specialty restaurants. The service and the food were outstanding! We also found food in the two complementary restaurants, to be very good, and the service was excellent as well.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We loved playing trivia every day, and I also did the origami. The activities that they had were very good, but there were just not enough of them.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The entertainment on board the ship was very good, but again I didn't think there was enough of it "Rumers" performed in Syd Norman's Pour House is a must! The singers and musicians were outstanding! This was one of our favorite entertainment venues on the ship. We didn't have reservations for the Donna Summer show. We were eventually able to get in. The singing was outstanding, and we also loved hearing about her life's story. The Price is Right was a lot of fun! We didn't have reservations for this event either, but we did get in. I found the Prima theater to be quite small for the number of passengers on board, even though there were three levels.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Great service throughout the ship. The staff was always helpful and ready to respond to any issues, comments, or complaints. The general manager had a suggestion/comment box by the client services desk. I put some comments in and twice I got a tray of chocolates delivered to our State room. That was a nice touch.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is beautiful throughout. It is very calming and tastefully done. However, some of the spaces are way too small for the number of passengers on board. Examples are the surfside café in the end dog food hall. Both of these are very popular for dining and they get way too crowded too fast. The pool deck is also very small. There is one pool with two hot tubs. Then there are two very small infinity pools on deck eight. It seems that the ship wanted to concentrate more on lounging space rather than have more pools on the deck. The Prima Theater also seemed small, even though it was on three levels. They never seem to be enough space for all those who wanted to attend the shows they are.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had an inside accessible cabin, as my husband is handicap. We found the room to be very spacious and beautifully decorated. The roll in shower was huge and it had a rain showerhead. In the bathroom and in the State room there was ample storage throughout. The closets were ample too, and they even had lights that would go on when you opened the doors. Everything was really great about our state room, including our attendant He was very very responsive, polite and such a nice person. As an FYI, please note that they service the rooms only one time during the day now. Our state room attendant. Let us choose if we wanted him to come morning or afternoon.

Ship tip

Book your shore excursions early. Very important to also make your dinner reservations as soon as possible when that window opens up. Do not wait until you get on the ship to do that. Also, book the shows where you need reservations as soon as that window opens up, and prior to boarding the ship. The windows for dining, and the shows open up many months before embarkation so it would be wise to pay attention to these windows.

Ports of call

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

NCL has its own ferry to St George. This is a free ferry so take advantage of this. At George is quaint and beautiful. The National Museum of Bermuda is a must see. It is wonderful and you won't be disappointed

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
I felt that we got into port late. It must've been around 730 or 8 AM when we were just docking in New York. Then we had to wait for the ship to clear customs. So everyone was waiting in different lounge areas to disembark. Then, of course, everyone wanted to disembark at the same time. So it didn't seem to be very well organized or controlled.
