Review summary

Our first port to visit on the itinerary was cancelled long before we started our cruise, so we had an extra day at sea before arriving at Bermuda. The weather was not as warm as we had hoped for (so no more cruises in the North Atlantic until after May). The ship is beautiful but perhaps not as comfortable seating and swimming as we thought it would be. The infinity pools were small and crowded.

Embarkation

Getting onboard took a little longer than we expected

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining rooms became a little boring over the week. Only 1 server was not very good so maybe he was new, all others were wonderful and the decor was great. Serving sizes were big even if you asked for a smaller portion we were told that the food in made on a lower deck and then sent up so they had no control regarding portions. If you had a special request for something (condiment) you might get it in time or not.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We loved the race cars, the Karaoke was nice but always crowded, Trivia games were challenging. The pool was smaller and so it was always crowded. The smaller places to sit and relax were nice also but again if the weather was good they would fill up quickly.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The Donna Summer show was great if you liked her music and the cast was perfect. The Price is Right was surprising fun. Th musicians were good but there was no Piano Bar for sing alongs.

Children's Programs

No children with us

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was great and so were the servers. The ship's personnel were very good at their jobs. When I lost my bag they were quick to find it and put it into the lost and found.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
There were a lot of small areas (it made it hard for larger groups sit together). After a week we were finally starting to find our way around. A few more maps would have been good. We heard from friends that several of the "play" areas, (putt putt and others ) were looking worn out and the ship was only 6-9 months old. The staff kept it clean though.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
There was a lot of storage places for clothes and luggage. The shower size was amazing and the area around the sink was great also.

Ship tip

Book yourspeciality dinners midway through your trip and at the end so when the food gets boring you can change it up a little.

Ports of call

New York, New York Did not visit port

It did not look safe and was NY (too crowded, dirty)

Royal Naval Dockyard, West End, Bermuda

4 out of 5
As a jumping off place for excursions it was great. We also could see historic places from our cabin.

Disembarkation

About the same as the other ships and cruise lines we have used before.

That’s not right. New York is nice. You should have seen it in the 70’s.
