Review summary

We did enjoy our vacation, however Norwegian needs to improve several things before we would ever think about booking with them again. Make sure you book any activities as soon as you can check-in online. after seeing the Vibe Beach Club I would suggest individual 16 and up consider purchasing this upgrade. This seemed to have the best place to actually get a seat and be able to get in the water while at sea. Hopefully, NCL gets their employees to appear more friendly than what we experienced. Most of the employees working the bars were awesome.

Embarkation

No issues, friendly staff going through the check-in process.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
The food was lacking in a major way bland and frequently came cold. Our first specialty restaraunt was Cagneys Steak House, I was shocked at the lack of flavor in the steaks and side dishes. The second place we went was Palomar Greek Seafood, this place was delicious and had very friendly staff who served us.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
It was extremely hard to fins any seating around the pool or splash pad during any days at sea, we even tried to get there early around 630 and most seats were already taken. The VR experience was lack luster and still needs a lot of kinks worked out. The go-karts were fun.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
This was our first time on NCL and had no idea if you didn't pre-book the shows you most likely will not get in. This left a lot of downtime on the Prima.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
We didn't use the Splash program often due to the fact they only allow 50 children in at a time. On the days we did use them, we had to be in line an hour before it opened.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
I don't expect perfection from any employee on any of the cruises i have been on. That being said my room steward was not friendly and clearly didn't want to be there. We were getting ready to head out for the evening when we asked for our steward to replace our body wash container. I asked him to come back in 5 or 10 minutes to which he replied it had to be done right now or wait until tomorrow. The employees at customer service and Shore excursions were not much better.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
For a ship less than a year old had wear and tear visible.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The room was nice, however already was falling apart. The door plate was missing a screw and was popping off. A light in the room would not turn off, leading us to have to unscrew the light bulb day in and out.

Ship tip

Book everything early.

Ports of call

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
We booked the Cabana and enjoyed every minute of it.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

1 out of 5
Too long to write this review, however, I will say do not book the tubing and bamboo beach excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
After the abysmal excursion in Ocho Rios, we cancled our excursion through NCL and did our own thing. Our group of 9 had more fun doing our own thing, we chose to rent two jeeps and actually saw some great sights.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
No issues at all, we carried our luggage off the Prima and essentially walked right off.
