Review summary

There is also a $5 upcharge each time you order room service. We did not find the staff to be warm and friendly. I mentioned this to the Officer in charge of food and beverage and he was VERY defensive. If you go into the cruise eyes wide open, you'll have a nice time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The embarkment experience was fine. The times that you choose when you make your reservation mean nothing. It's first come first serve

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
There is not enough dining for the number of cruisers. Everything required a reservation and most restaurants sold out very quickly. So you're only option was the buffet. The buffet was typical with fabulous desserts and a bakery.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Pools seem to be getting smaller each year. There were a lot of activities on the 18th floor, but nearly everything had an upcharge. Putt-Putt golf race cars darts everything had enough charge. So if you have young children or who are excited about those activities, expect to have a hefty bill when you exit the boat.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Shows were great but again all reservations were sold out before you even got on the ship. So wait till 10 minutes before the show and then you can often get in. We were able to enjoy the Price is Right deal or no deal noise boys and on a summer the musical. We did not have reservations but we got there 10 minutes before and there were seats available. The quality of the entertainment was magnificent.

Children's Programs

We were not traveling with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The dining room staff were courteous, prompt and efficient. The staff on the pool deck were very short-handed and not efficient.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
The Prima is a new era of ship design. It has small spaces as opposed to open vast areas and it takes a bit to get to know the whole ship because there are so many hidden nooks and crannies. There is no dance club on the ship. And little opportunity to dance should you wish to.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was spacious and lovely.

Ship tip

Be sure to find the observation deck as quickly as possible. It's a wonderful way to relax in the afternoon and watch the ocean. They also have light a light menu at their buffet.

No beach access. Taxi ride to any beach.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Oh my. Very VERY aggressive taxi drivers. Excursions are a little different which was nice but DO NOT book on the ship. Negotiate when you get to Port. We saved more than 75%.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

Long lines for food and beverage. Couldn't find a lounge chair. VERY overcrowded.
