Review summary

Having never been on a cruise before we did not really know what to expect. In researching the ship we found out that it was one of the smaller ships and older (relatively - christened in 1991 but remodeled and extended around 2000). We approached the cruise with open minds and were pleasantly surprised. Yes, the ship is smaller by comparison holding only about 1500 passengers, but it offered all that we were looking for in a cruise and actually made made our sailing feel a little more personal as we got to know the other passengers and crew. At each meal in the dining room, we offered to "share" a table. We met a lot of different people and shared a lot of experiences as we compared notes on cruising. We got to know some of the cruise directors staff as we saw them at most of the planned activities. When we first boarded the ship, everyone was on the top deck for the sail away, and it felt very crowded, but after that it felt quite roomy as people spread out and went their own way. We opted for the ocean view room and were glad we did. Having the window providing natural light made it feel more open and larger. Yes the ship is older, but it is well maintained. During the cruise we saw maintenance people everywhere constantly touching up or fixing. We noticed a loose stair railing one morning and by that night it had been removed and repaired. We ate most of our meals in one of the two main dining rooms. The menu was very good and offered a variety of selections. The entertainment was also very good and offered a variety to keep things interesting. Based on our experience we will definately take another cruise in the future. This was an excellent first experience for us.

Key West, Florida

This was by far the best stop of our cruise. A beautiful town with a lot of charm and history.
Don't Miss: View the sites from the top of the tower over the shipwreck museum, and don't miss the sunset celebration.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Our shore excursion was cancelled due to weather, but we enjoyed our short stay on the local beach. Amount of time in port was on the short side.

Cozumel, Mexico

A slightly longer port visit which allowed us to walk arund a bit after walking on the ocean floor via our planned excursion - the helmet dive / sea trek which was quite the experience.
Don't Miss: Try the helmet dive (sea trek).
