Review summary

I heard a lot of complaints about the long distance passengers had to walk from the ship to land in 2 of the 4 ports. NCL should have provided shuttle service as other ships did for their guests.

We had visited all destinations before but wanted to experience the Joy for the first time. The staff at the Haven and front desk concierge desks were deceitful and lied to our faces about the amenities we were entitled to and didn't get till nearly midway through the cruise.

Onboard Activities

The shows in the Atrium were the only activities we enjoyed. We're not gamblers or drinkers.

Entertainment

"Footloose" was too loud and not very professionally performed. "Elements" was a much better performance, as well as the Italian comic/juggler. Some nights there was nothing to do.

No kids.

Service and Staff

The only staff and outstanding service we experienced was from the wait staff in the Haven restaurant and specialty restaurants,. our cleaning staff and butler.

It was really a 1-bedroom and "walk-in" closet for a second bedroom. I slept on the couch in the sitting area so I wouldn't experience claustrophobia in the 'walk-in' closet.

Ship tip

Give it some time. Maybe the concierge and front desk staff will be more informed and less liable to deception.

We have had excellent service at all dining venues. There were shuttles running in both ports with the long piers. Sorry you had a bad experience.

I agree with the stateroom you were in. NCL should be ashamed to call that closet, which is what it should be, a bedroom. I think is has a hideaway bed/couch.
