Review summary

Ship was supposedly renovated recently with new carpeting, among other things. That was certainly not the case on Deck 10, mid ship. Carpeting was the same as I recall it from our 2007 cruise to Hawaii. In definite need of modernization.

Food and Dining

Over-abundant serving sizes. good food prep, not great. Steaks were often gristly. veggies were always well done, not mushy. Desserts were good. i very much liked the variety available and often had trouble choosing a meal.

Entertainment

Lousy acts except for the Jade Orchestra and its various offshoots. Most, at best, average. When so much talent is available in the world, surely you can do better. Again, the Jade Orchestra musicians were superior. Loved Mr. Year's classical guitar.

All very friendly. Enjoyed their personal stories.

Often a smell of urine from stateroom and public bathrooms.

Enjoyed the balcony, tho it was often to cool to be out there. It would be nice also to have a small side table on both sides of the bed, rather than just one.

Pros: Service in Alizar restaurant and Madeira and Malaga

Cons: Canary Island Ports, some of the "talent"
