Review summary

Extremely disappointed with how this cruise, ship and Norwegian in general are. If this is an indication of how Norwegian is going, I'm not sure about future cruises with them

Food and Dining

Food quality was well below what we've come to expect from Norwegian. Shanghai and Cagney's were the only two places with exceptional meals. The Buffet was horrendous. Food was cold, bland, dry, etc... I had fish curry and St Louis ribs, sausage gravy and more that were COLD. Burgers and meats bland. Chicken dishes dry as the Sahara desert! Main dining rooms were not much better. While they LOOKED good, they were not much better than what was on the buffet.

Just another bar with the same offering.You would hope a location being billed as a British Themed Beer house would have some special or exclusive beer offerings!!NOPE! Just the same as any other bar on the ship. Without that, the decor alone is old and dated and not enough to make it worth spending time there. That is probably why they have karaoke there, to get people to come in.

ZERO stars!!!Avoid if possible, many other free options with less unsanitary environment. I saw so many health violations happen I stopped eating there.

For the most part descent pub fare. Except for the one night they ran out of Swiss cheese and put American cheese on a Reuben. They didn't even tell the server so I could possibly make another option. The taste combination is NOT good.

Guest services was a joke. We had several issues during the cruise. We were actually told 'Before (before covid) we could have done something for you for your inconvenience, but now (present time) we can't do anything' Our room steward and servers were phenomenal

Truly miss having a middle elevator bank. For a ship as young as this one, and that was just renovated in 2019,it is beat up, banged up and broken already.

Contrary to what is printed online and in your paperwork, there is NO transportation to the Cabanas, only the Villas. The Buffet was horrendous. Only good food we found was at the food truck by the cabanas. I can see wanting a cabana if the ship was at full capacity, but definitely not wort the price unless you want a place to nap in the afternoon.

I was also on this cruise. I agreed with Todd’s comments on the buffet. Some of the food were good, but most of the chicken, pork items were over cooked. They became so dry. We could not eat them. Some of the soups were so salty. The Asian noodle soups were very good, however. We did enjoyed the food at Ocean Blue and Le Bistro. I did see a broken glass floor along the Water Front the first day. It was replaced the next day. Being able to watch a weather satellite launch was a bonus “excursion” right on the ship from our balcony room. I see that you have a club suite on the port side. Our club suite 10790 was on the starboard side facing the launch site. It seemed that the only purpose of stopping at Norfolk was immigration check. NCL even changed the departure time from 1pm to 11am. Not enough time to do anything there. That also cut short our time in Nassau. Wish we could stay long there.

Hi Todd! I know you didn’t love the overall experience, but how was the room location? I’ll be staying just a bit more towards mid ship in 10220 in April and I’m interested to know about anything of note such as proximity to smoking areas, etc. I appreciate any info. TIA :)

Hey there are way more elevators than RC ships!! I thought it was nice, but damn… I walked 60 something miles this week!!! I echo the buffet was crap. Wasabi was very good, way more food than anyone could eat (as a dining credit - 4 items off the menu). I noticed the shattered glass - also noticed the deck glass portholes were shattered. Right side of the theater had a blown speaker There was a very prominent vibration on the aft port side, the buffet was vibrating. It was mentioned in the captains meeting with the audience and all the crew basically said there was no problems with anything on board from an engineering perspective. I’ve been on Explorer of the Seas and Vision of the seas. Getaway still outshines them in my opinion. It could have been better. It was a cheap … nope. It was a dirt cheap cruise. I think at the end of the day got decent gas mileage. And I was away from work and the wife for a week. :-) Nassau really sucked. Ok I’ll shut up.

Looking at a cruise ship is like looking at a used car... At first it looks so nice and shiny because it's all cleaned and polished. But as you look closer, you see the scratches the dents and dings of a used car. Same thing with the ship. Once you get past the awe of getting onto a cruise ship and look past the beautiful 3 story chandelier you see the warn carpet in areas, the dented and dinged wall panels the SHATTERED glass panes on decks 15 and 16, the stained seat cushions, etc... Especially for a ship that was just updated less than a year before the Covid shutdown.

How could this be!!!!!!….Their we’re other cruises on this very ship and they had such good things to say about the beauty and the décor of the ship!!….I can understand the food issue some might say the food was great and others might say something different….Now I fell a little disappointed. I will be on that very ship April 3rd, Dear God I hope the food is good.
