Fun Cruise but cruise staff unfriendly

Sail Date: December 25, 2011

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Oceanview

The ship was clean and very spacious. However, the staff was remarkably unfriendly and not very accommodating. The gym was very nice, but could have more equipment that are female friendly like the inner and outer thigh exercise machine.

Pros: activities for kids

Cons: The staff was very unfriendly and the service in the dining room was extremely slow.

Recommends Norwegian Gem? No.

Ship Quality
good amenities on the ship and very clean and nicely decorated for the holidays.
Food and Dining
The food was decent, but again, the dining room staff was very slow, rude and unfriendly. As a result, I had most of my meals at the buffet.
Cabin / Stateroom
Entertainment
Children's Programs
My 7 year old son had a great time at the kids club.
Service and Staff
Staff not as friendly and nice as some of the other cruise ships, such as Royal Caribbbean, Celebrity and even Carnival. Staff needs to be trained on how to treat passangers well and how to smile, etc.
