Review summary

Sailing from New York is great if you really hate air travel, however, remember you are trading beach days for at sea days. The mid-Atlantic in March is still chilly and windy, so plan on using the incredible indoor facilities.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We loved freestyle. Choosing a different restaurant every night was so much fun. The menus were changing and creative.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
A great variety, very enjoyable, we loved the magic show and the improvisational comedy group, Second City.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone went above and beyond, it was incredible.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Gem is a beautiful new ship with the hardest working staff I have ever seen.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect. A junior suite was comfortable for 2 adults and 1 teen. The design of the room made privacy a non-issue.

Ports of call

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

3 out of 5
The logistics of getting all those passengers off the ship and then back on again makes this a difficult day. This is really the only chance for a beach day.

Pros: Service and facilities, flawless.

Cons: The orane juice was a little weak.
