Lovely ship. Attentive Crew member and excellent food. Constant entertainment, if you get bored, it's your own fault.

Review summary

We ONLY cruise with NCL and have never had a bad trip. Didn't enjoy this sailing, but it was my fault, traveling when schools were out. The fact that 3rd and 4th pax traveled free, brought more families out. Wish the Haven was 18 and over, or maybe NCL could offer adult only sailings i.e. Virgin cruise line. When you pay a higher fare, you expect it to be relaxing. Again, it was probably my fault for booking during school break times. Maybe if we choose a smaller ship (still NCL) with fewer amenities, slides, racetrack, less kids won't want to go, save the big ships for them. I don't want to quit sailing and definitely don't want to give up NCL.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Spectacular.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Bingo, deal or no deal, and casino.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Choir of Man, enjoyed by many, not our choice. Comedians were very good, really enjoyed them.

Children's Programs

No chicken in our party. We prefer more mature entertainment.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Always pleasant, never met anyone on staff with a bad or depressing attitude.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The pool area in the Haven required constant attention. We couldn't use the pool, too many kids rough housing, deck was wet all the time. The staff was kept busy the entire time the pool was open.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The butler and room steward kept the room spotless and well stocked. They were wonderful.

Ship tip

If you're not traveling with children, make sure you don't travel over the holidays or school break.

Kids want to have fun too. They are the future cruisers that will keep the cruise lines growing. Thanks for sharing

As you said, sailing on ships with kid-friendly features during school holidays means you will be sailing with probably 20-25% kids. Our sailing on NCL Encore this past Thanksgiving week had 1200 kids out of 4800 passengers. It didn’t bother me, but definitely something to consider.

I agree. I always wanted to do a new years eve cruise. When i did, I didn't realize how many kids would be on it. I think each cruise line should have a ship dedicated to adults only
