I have sailed NCL many times, but I think I am ready for a change.

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I am sad to say that the food on the Escape this time was meh. I have had amazing dinners in the Manhattan Room on previous cruises, but not this time. Any beef we ordered, no matter the temperature cooked at, was tough and chewy. Lunch at Savor was not great either. We ate at 2 specialties, La Cucina and Moderno, both were fine. Sides at Moderno were room temp and pork was drier than when I make it lol. The salad bar was amazing though. Buffet breakfast and O’Sheehan’s were our faves, which is usually the opposite.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We had a spa room, and thoroughly enjoyed the spa every day. We thought the movies in the atrium and Spice H2O were good choices, and enjoyed the various game shows and trivias.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We loved Choir of Man and the Tribute to Elton John “This One’s for You.”

Service and Staff

I found many of the bartenders quite rude, and I have never felt that before. The rest of the staff very friendly.

Cabin / Stateroom

Even though this cabin is the closest to the elevator, we were not disturbed by any noise. We actually enjoyed the convenience of the location. The only noise that was disruptive was the noise from gym equipment above us on deck 16. I think that is the trade off for a spa balcony.

Disembarkation

Holy cow, what a disaster. There was no organization, no line, groups continued to be called when there was no room for more passengers in the disembarking area. Just herds and herds of people in the elevator lobbies with more trying to get off, through no fault of their own, cutting in front of those who had been waiting already. There was no place for them to go but to squish in. The line did not move for over an hour. Finally, the elevators were locked and the line began to inch along. We missed our shuttle because it took over 2 hours to get from the elevator to the gangway. Thank goodness we had a 3pm flight. FYI, we opted to carry off our luggage and attempted to disembark around 8am.
