Review summary

7 day cruise to Bermuda with 46 hours in Port. That’s a lot of sea time which is exactly what I wanted. Just please be mindful of that fact and be prepared to spend a lot of time on the ship. It’s a good ship, was better a couple of years ago but still good, and there is a lot to do and a lot of places to hunker down in and do whatever you do to relax, read, artwork eat, etc. Leaving out of New York this late in the season was more of an issue than I anticipated. That expensive balcony is mostly unusable a couple of days coming and going. Was great while in Bermuda.

First time Manhattan. Not a fan but once you’re in the port it goes pretty smoothly. Loved that they had food and drink vendors after check in while you waited to board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We sailed on Escape back in Aug 2016 and we’re absolutely blown away by the service. This time - Meh. Nothing bad, just not great. Food was good.

District Brew House

5 out of 5

Entertainment is great for a laugh and a beer here. Robbie and the staff are wonderful. Try the Jackhammer! 5 times better than a Woodford Manhattan. Great place to hang out in the afternoon. Not a lot of people know about it. Full bar besides craft beer. One downer on our cruise was a number of taps were kicked before the cruise even started. This is a ship management issue and not a reflection on the District staff.

Onboard Activities

Fitness center is very nice and love the thermal spa.

Piano player/comedian in The District bar was pretty good.

Service and Staff

Overall felt like they were phoning it in. One thing that really bugs me is staff in the buffet who charge in front of guests. I know you have a job to do and waiting for the guest to pass is a pain in the ass but it’s the reason you’re here. If Mgmt is pushing you to do more in less time then they are misguided. One big exception was Robbie and the rest of the staff in The District!! Awesome

Cabin / Stateroom

Loved it. Close to forward elevators, room layout is spacious (for a boat) and head is exceptional.

Ship tip

Day before disembarkation go to guest service early to get your luggage tags, even if walking off.
