as far as i am concerned norwegian has a lousy way of disembarkation my wife and i had to lug our luggage down eight floors and go from aft to port and back again this was disgraceful

You chose to lug your bags! Why the hurry to get off? Set your bags out the night before! Go for a nice sit down breakfast be one of the last off the ship! Less frustrating!

That's odd. Last time we left Escape we were off and thru customs in record time. Yes you have to go to the Manhattan dining room and weave your way thru. But they had gang ways both forward and aft which is where Manhattan room is. Either take the elevator down to main level or the escalator. Then with the facial recognition you are quickly thru customs.

The reason to carry your own luggage is to get off the ship faster and easier... well.. easier if you pack light, which we do. Lol on the Getaway, Escape sister ship, it took us over an hr to disembark winding for and aft on deck 8..... Compared to Oasis class ships where each time we have been off in 5 min. Now if we left our bags for the ship to handle them... you wait until they call your disembark number.. which could be from 1-26!!! And THEN wait in the line to get off the ship. Lol

I TOTALLY agree... Norwegian disembarkation sucks the way wind you up and back through deck 8. It is my least favorite out of any ship Ive been on!! They need to look at how the Oasis class ships handle disembarking... Even though Oasis class are the biggest ships with 6,000+ passengers, it never takes us more than 5 minutes to self disembark..

Did you choose self carry for your luggage? Most ships we put our luggage out the night before and pick up in port. We need more information about your experience.
