Review summary

Impossible to find a chair around the pool except for those days at Bermuda. We saw that people were getting up early and placing towels on multiple chairs so that they could move in and out of the sun as desired and most chair could be seen unused for hours with towels on then to save for possible use. We complained so patrolling started but without any real enforcing. This is unacceptable especially when there are easy fix solutions. In addition we saw many children in the adult pools and hot tubs some of which were jumping into the hot tub and splashing people trying to relax in chairs. Wi-Fi package was terrible – we purchased the best package they had for over $200 dollars and unable to even download email. Nothing but excuses with a small partial refund. We even established to their I.T. person that it was there poor service by getting off ship and using free Wi-fi at Fishbone rest. to get our email. Second time on Escape and we had hoped these problems would have been fixed Nope. We will sail NCL again some of their Ship are Excellent, but never again on the Escape.

Poor by comparison - one day had fish and chips and you could tell it was likely a frozen item reheated. Also (honestly) just to minutes late for breakfast would not serve us. Is that what friendly cursing service is about.

Entertainment

In general Not that good and one singer each time would even announce their band and then leave so that the Bass and keyboard player would only entertain. Never really could dance with power cables running across one dance floor and very little room. Overall poor paid movie choices in stateroom.

Service and Staff

The best thing to do when you see towels sitting on a chair for ages and no one in sight....move the towels and sit ur butt down in the chair. If someone complains then tell them the rules are no holding chairs for more than 30 minutes. I’ve moved many a towel off a chair I knew was not in use. What’s the worst that can happen?

I was on this cruise and personally watched crew members remove items from at least 15 chairs.

If people were issued 4 hour time slots then everyone could get a chair next to pool. And if they needed more time just return to get another slot if available. To tie a pool chair up for an entire day when use for only several hours is not in the best interest of anyone. We have been on many cruises where they managed the pool area very well just by monitoring the area and removing towels left on chairs for hours without use. Major areas on a cruise ship should not have to be a race to be first and if it can't be managed for everyone to enjoy it means the shipped is not managed well. There are always exceptions like limited bar chairs but a major area like pools theaters and majors attractions require good management. Just my opinion.

Most of the complaints you list are common to most cruise lines - people saving chairs, children not following rules, poor WiFi, etc. Some of these could be reduced by traveling when school is in session and less children are on board.

If they arw easy fixes you should get a job there. Its summer on a cruise.. Chairs being hard to find is normal. Yes two minutes late means they are closed. Just like on land. Its normal. Dont be late.
