Review summary

We enjoy NCL and have never had any real issues. Each time we cruise we learn new strategies that help us to maximize our vacation experience. The entertainment is always enjoyable and the talent is great!! You can choose to do as much or as little as you want. But there are always options.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Considering the amount of people that are boarding the ship, I though it went smoothly. There were plenty of NCL staff directing where & when to proceed

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The buffet can be a zoo!! But it's not due to the staff or the cruise line. It's due to inconsiderate passengers that do not take into consideration that they are not the only ones on the ship. During peak times people should be aware that they should probably not tie up tables for extended periods of time. The service in the main dining rooms was exceptional and the buffet areas was constantly being swept, mopped and wiped down. NO complaints about the staff.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
When at sea the activities can get quite crowded. If you want a lounge chair near the pool you have to get a spot early!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed ALL of the entertainment on board. There was one night in the Manhattan Dining room where the entertainment was quite loud. It was difficult to carry on a conversation.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff are phenomenal!! We are so impressed by their work ethic. However, we were not totally impressed by our cabin steward this time. We didn't see him for 3 days and when we did, he was not very personable. We had left a note requesting a few things, our complimentary sparkling wine, complimentary robes, tissues and extra coffee. Finally on the 3rd day we met our steward and asked for these items. They were then provided. Some days we had a bath mat, some days not. We also felt that it took a long time for our cabin to be made up. One morning we had left the cabin around 8:00 am and 4 hours later our cabin had still not been made up.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was clean. The staff does a great job considering how many people they're picking up after.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
This was our first time upgrading to a mini-suite. We didn't feel a huge difference in the cabin area but the size of the bathroom was much better than a regular balcony cabin.

Ship tip

If you're going to the buffet try to go at non-peak times. Especially for breakfast!! Before 9:00 if possible.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5
We did a kayaking tour. The port was much like any other port. Nothing special.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas Did not visit port

The weather conditions did not allow tendering service. We continued to Nassau

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
We only got off the ship to do our snorkeling excursion. We have been to this port in the past. There is easy access to town and shopping.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Disembarkation is never a fun process. We've cruised before, so we had an idea of what the process was. But we felt as though there wasn't enough information on the night before. There were instructions to choose luggage tags and when those colors would be called, but no further info regarding when to have the bags out or where to wait for your color to be called.
