Review summary

This time it was myself, my husband, his brother and wife. We had a blast. We had the unlimited drink package and we took full advantage of that. I think the weather definitely contributed to our great time. It only rained for a few minutes after we did the stingray excursion in Great Stirrup Cay. The rest of the time it was beautiful! I love the Free Style of Norwegian Cruise. I don't like to plan my vacation out too much if I can help it and I like to eat whenever and wherever I feel like.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We origonally booked the 9:30-10:00 am embarkment. Between us running late and parking the car we didn't arrive until about 10:45. It took about 45 minutes from start to finish before we were on board. We were given a number but when we got to the entrance they said just go right on. It was a breaze!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We didn't eat at any specialty restaurants but the main dining rooms and buffets were pretty good. The only issue we had was with O'Sheens bar and Grill. We had very bad service and the food was so/so.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

We saw the show the Brat Pack. We loved it!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We had very good service. It's hard with the language barrier to get across what we wanted sometimes but everyone did their best to understand what we were saying and making us happy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was huge!! Plenty of space for everyone. With so many people on board I would expect it to be hard to keep clean but there were crew members everywhere cleaning all the time.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was very spacious. Especially since we didn't have any kids with us this time (yay!) The bathroom was huge! Very nice shower. There was just one thing that could have been fixed. One of the closet doors was stuck and very hard to open. Other than that the room was great!

Ship tip

Book the comedy shows early. Go to the guest services desk when you get on the ship and book your shows if you havn't already. They say you don't need reservations but you actually do if you want to have a good seat and not stand in the standby line. Book you dinner reservations early too. They do book up fast but there is not a long wait for standby.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

We didn't do any excursions just walked around. We were able to get a Lift driver and it wasn't much money to have him take us to the shops.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
Finally we were able to stop here. It was a nice calm beautiful day. All the food and drinks are free. (yes the alcohol plan is good on the island) I would suggest getting your seating as soon as possible because all the shady seats were taken. They did have the Clam Shells available for $45. Not a bad price if you need some shade and there were plenty of those to choose from.

Nassau, Bahamas

We didn't do any excursions here. In the past I have done the water park at Atlantis but thought that was fun but way too much money for what they offer. (Its not as nice as you see in the pictures or website, Just sayin.) We went shopping and Senior Frogs. Walk around, don't shop at the first place you see. The prices are all different.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We chose to carry our own bags off the ship. We chose the very first disembarkment time. With a little bit of walk around the ship we got right off. Went right through customs and within 1/2 hour we were waiting for our car to go home. FYI, take the stairs on the ship if you can. The elevators are going to be packed. Or if you are with multiple people, go one at a time if you have to. You will never get an elevator that will hold all of you.
