Review summary

The cruise was fine, but not one that will stand out as one of the best.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The dining was very good. The specialty restaurants were interesting and the food very good. The reason for 4 stars is the buffet. They have specialty nights, one was seafood which was mainly mussels and shrimp. The crew pushed the specialty night but when you got to the buffet, it was very unorganized. The lines were long and if you waited for the hot seafood you have to then wait in another long line for the cold seafood.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Rated 4 stars because a ship with over 4000 passengers should have a theater that holds only 500. Secondly the seats were uncomfortable. It seemed the the front of the seat tipped downwards, making you side down onto you tail bone. I found it hard to sit through a 45 minute show.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Most of the staff was very friendly and quick to service your request. But staff at the lounges seem less enthused to serve. You sometimes had to wait for a beverage even thou the bar was not busy. There is now a lack of waiters roam the pools offering drinks. I believe that the alcohol packages may have caused this.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The balcony stateroom was nice. My big complaint is that the bed was short and not comfortable. I thought it might have been me ( 6ft 1in tall) but others in our party said the same thing. I believe this is because the room seemed narrow, and a longer bed would make it impossible to walk around the end of the bed. The room was clean and our cabin attendant was very good, no complaints there.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

Nassau, Bahamas

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
NCL seem lacking on disembarking. A first time traveler would be lost, there was very little information. The releasing of passengers is more less on the honor system. I have blue tag on luggage, but walked out after first color was called. No one checked.

I was on the Escape September 30th and loved every minute of it. Looking forward to cruising the Escape again. Food, staff, and fellow cruisers made it the best vacation ever!

He’s probably the same person who put towels on chairs by pool and went to buffet for breakfast

Gotta ask, if your color tag hadn't been called why were you trying to get off before your time?

Take a plane next time....cruising isn’t for you. I was just on the escape sept 30th, had a great time. Not everything was perfect but on the whole it was a great cruise
