Had a nice time but pool was too small. Also had 3 specialty restaurants with our package but the restaurants were all booked.

Review summary

Our cabin steward Morgan was great! Did not like that the so called free style was not free style. We tried to book reservations on Tuesday and everything was booked for entire week. Could not get reservations for dinner show, yet we were told by others in our group that there were empty tables. I think other people booked early and then didn't go. You need a better way to reserve spots. Not enough waiters for drinks. We plan on giving Norwegian another try.

Yes, research, read the blogs, go on ship mate šŸ˜± and you will be better off from the wealth of information of firsthand experiences from fellow cruisers so you will know how to go.

On NCL website, it states the the Escape can hold 4266 passengers based on double occupancy. Thereā€™s a lot of family. Therefore, more then 2 people per cabin. So the numbers can go up fast. It may not always be 5000 people, but it can sometimes come close to that, especially during pick season such as summer time.

Escape is not more than 5000 passengers!

Research is a must when booking a cruise. If you wouldā€™ve done so, you wouldā€™ve found out that on a ship that big (more then 5000 people), you have to make reservations 90 days before the cruise or on boarding day. As for the size of the pool, unfortunately, it seems to be a new trend on cruise ships. NCL is a great cruise line. Give it another try and maybe research more. Hope your next cruise is better.
