I will say that almost everyone I spoke to on this cruise who has cruised NCL before has agreed to never take this ship again. It didn't live up tot the great customer service that the other ships have given us in the past. If you are traveling with adult children under 21 good luck! We have a family of 3 boys who are 18, 18 and 19. My oldest had his girlfriend with and she is 20. When we booked we were told that NCL policy has changed and you have to have an adult (21 or older for NCL) in a room with each child(under 21). In our case we didn't want to be cramped and my kids are adults in our eyes and wanted 3 cabins. One for my oldes and his girlfriend, one for my twins and one for my wife and I. They had us book it so that my oldes was in with me, his gf in with my wife and the twins were in a room that had an adjoining door to my cabin.
Embarkation

Besides waiting in line for an hour to get to the check in desk it went very easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The Manhatten Room was so slow. We were seated right away. We were there over 3 hours just for dinner. The wait staff was not attentive at all. Our drinks were empty most of the time. If you want to experience some of the specialty restaurants I suggest making reservations as soon as they are available on the NCL site before you leave. If not, you may have to eat at 9 at night. There are not enough bar tenders at each of the bars. You will wait 10 minutes plus to get a drink.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
There are too many people on the ship for most of the activities. Many of the things put on by the Cruise director like the Not so Newlywed game were in the Atrium. This was horrible as it clogged everything up and you couldn't hear anything if you were to go to Guest services, shore Excursions desk and so on.

Service and Staff
1 out of 5
Customer service on this ship for the most part is non existent. We didn't get turn down service until 9:30 at night. Guest services told you conflicting information. The only good service we received was from Mustafa and his staff in Savor, one of the main dining rooms.
Ship Quality

Ship design is horrible. You have two banks of elevators for 5000 people. We have been on smaller NCL ships that had 3 banks of elevators. Over all the ship was clean with the exception of a hallway we had to walk through by our room. There was a room where the staff took your dirty dishes from room service and such right around the corner from our room. That hallway every night had dishes, pans and stuff that you had to weave around to get through to get to the main hallway. Our room steward left his can of soda in our room one day, left the bathroom trashcan on the floor in the middle of the bathroom.

Ship tip
Don't do it! If you go on NCL use a different ship.
It is very beautiful. Don't fall for the 2 day public transportation pass. It's not worth it. If you go to Horseshoe Beach don't take the buss. You will wait an hour or more and then take 40 minutes to get there only to have to walk about a mile from the bus stop. For $7 a person you can take a mini bus and they take you directly to the beach. Also, don't go on day one. That's what everyone does. Go on day two. It won't be as crowded. Check out the street fair every Wednesday evening in Hamilton. Take the ferry. It's $4.50 a person and a beautiful boat ride. NCL offers a free ferry to St. Georges. Definitely check that out. It's a beautiful historic town.
I have to say I stayed away from guest services and everything else because I planned ahead and I love the fact that there are 5000 people on board I don’t think I would have any fun on a ship half at size and as far as turndown service I don’t even know what that is is it really necessary to have your bed turn down before you go to sleep at night
You were on vacation right???? Before you book your cruise, get a layout of the ship and check which rooms are located. And people unfortunately forget where they put something. Did not ever happen to you at home??? I do hope you had some good time there! Sorry to hear about all your unhappiness.👍🏼🛳💖
I would hope you realize that you didn’t really need to sleep in the actual room your name was attached to....if that was your main complaint then it’s your fault. They don’t come check rooms like in prison to make sure you’re in the “ right bed” ...good grief
We had a wonderful experience on the Escape. It really doesn't matter how you book the cabins. Once you get on, you just move everyone around. We have done it several times. You know, sometimes people get called away and my put items down and then forget to go back. I'm sure it happens at your own home. I know it does at mine. Like you said, there are 5000 people trying to eat. Sometimes it takes a while. Your on vacation on a ship. You have nothing but time. Relax!
Crazy how things can be so different from 1 cruise to another. We were on the Escape in May and had a great experience I agree about the elevator situation and do prefer the smaller ships but still can’t wait to cruise on the Escape again
Wow this review is surprising. Sorry your experience wasn’t up to par. We will be back on the ship for the 3rd time in the past year in August and can not wait! We have had great experiences each time.
