Embarkation

Had an early embarkation time. Waited for about 20 minutes before they started screening the passengers. We were in the waiting room within a half hour. Fastest experience yet.

Food and Dining

We had the dining package and enjoyed Cagney's, Teppanyaki and La Cucina and the food was fantastic! Make your reservations before 7 PM or after 8:30 and you get much better service. We had reservations between 7 & 8 a few nights and we waited a long time to get drinks, desert and coffee. The lunch and dinner at Taste and Savor was excellent as well.
Onboard Activities

Atrium activities were fun to watch. The ropes course was a blast. I wish they had all of the zip lines open.
Entertainment

We have been on two previous cruises on the Getaway and the entertainment on the Escape was the best.
Saw Brat Pack and After Midnight in the theater and they were great. We saw Scotty Cavenaugh (juggler/comedian) in the small theater and the Escape theater. It was the same show but we enjoyed both. We also did the Escape the Big Top. What a great idea to have on the ship!! No, we didn't make it out.
Service and Staff

Diogo was our steward and he was great. Staff was friendly and approachable. Wait staff were great although they were flustered when it got busy. Bar tenders were very quick to serve. I would tip a few extra dollars if I was sitting at the bar for a while. Received VERY prompt service when I did this.
Ship Quality

We were on the Getaway twice before and the Escape is basically the same ship. It was great to be so familiar with the layout of the ship. Everything was very clean and up to date.
Cabin / Stateroom

Used to the cabin size and we had no reason to want a bigger room.
Ship tip
Make your dinner, show and excursion reservations before the cruise!!! The only thing we had to book on the ship was the Escape the Big Top. We took care of everything else two months before the cruise. Can't believe people get upset about not getting a reservation when they wait until they get on the ship.
Very clean and the shops are all new. A lot of the usual shops but the people are not pushy. You have to be an employee or ship guest to get into the port area. This really keeps the riff-raff out. Enjoyed the Green Grotto cave tour. Our tour guide driver took us to several road side stops to share the history of Jamaica. Very cool.
This is a tendering port so book your excursion through NCL to get the priority tendering ticket. We swam with the stingrays at Sting Ray City. There were about 40 boats and 200 people trying to hold about a dozen stingrays.
First time on this island and it was great. They had several food stations with buffet, burgers, hot dogs and all were complimentary. A lot of room to move around and plenty of beach. Did not do an excursion here.
Did the Jet Boat excursion and had a blast! They took us around Paradise Island and showed us the homes of the rich and famous. The market area just as you get off the ship is pure chaos. There is no flow to the foot traffic and it takes a half hour to get to the street.
Took the late time off the ship since our flight home was not until mid afternoon. Got right off the ship! Finding our bags in customs was a bit tricky. We were in a back room because of our late time but we found our way.
