Had a great time, met nice people but will not take this particular ship again.

Food and Dining

Drinks where good, food was very very very very salty! Buffet was the same every day. Dining room food was so salty I couldn't eat most of it. All staff was great but Aaron was the best bar/waiter staff ever. Thank you Aaron
Onboard Activities

For such a big ship there is only 1 pool and was so crowded that you couldn't even get near it. The one time we where able to get in the jacuzzi, two parents brought their 2 very young children (3 yrs) into the jacuzzi. I love kids and have 4 of my own and 5 grandchildren but they where jumping around, splashing, stepping on our feet. There is a sign posted that states "Adults Only"! Obviously these parents can't read or choose to ignore. We got out after only a couple of minutes. Very annoying and disrespectful.
Entertainment

Only got to see 1 show the whole week. I refuse to pay extra to see shows and the free ones where booked when I looked to see availability. The price of shows where $40 pp. I have never paid extra for shows on any of the many many cruises I have gone on. Very frustrating to find this out after boarding ship. None if this information was indicated prior to booking cruise.

Ship Quality

The ship was very clean but the layout was horrible. 1 pool for 4200 passengers! Poor design!
Cabin / Stateroom

I have been on many many cruises and have always had an inside cabin. That being said, the cabin on this ship was the tiniest cabin with no draws to put clothes in. Had to live out of suitcase all week. Poor design.
Ship tip
Norwegian is a great cruise line, just pick another Norwegian ship.
Thank you dykemank for your honest review. I love NCL even thou only been on 2 of them but every ship and staff varies. Seems whenever anyone posts an honest review about THEIR experience, others slam them- reviews are just that- your personal experience. Thank you!
I have to admit I never unpack because truthfully I am a germ a phobe I hang things that can Be but rarely take things out of my suitcase and the drity
Clothes go in a plastic grocery bag from home
When young children are in the Jacuzzi, I personally feel that you should kindly tell them that this isn't a place for them to be and ask them to leave. When I was a kid, you had to be 18 to go into a hot tub. I to this day struggle when I see young children in them.
I’ve been in the Escape twice and never had a problem with putting away all of my stuff. Neither people I was traveling with. A lot of shelves and hangers. Does the trick. With any big ship, specialty restaurants and shows should be booked on boarding day but best 90 days before sailing. For an experienced cruiser like you, you should’ve known that. If kids are in adult only area of hot tub and nobody’s doing anything about it and it bothers you that much, just tell an employee or go at the guest service and make a complaint. If nobody says nothing, they can’t fix it. That being said. I love the Escape. I love NCL. Any wait for my cruise on the Epic next year.
Hmmm... for you to have been on many many cruises I know of several lines that charge extra for “some” of their entertainment. And after you book cruise and plan vacation it asks what you would like to add and buy. As well as being a regular cruiser anyone knows you have to book shows and dinners as soon as you get on ship or beforehand because they go fast. The ship can’t help if parents don’t follow rules as to not allowing kids in the area. And many say Norwegian’s buffet is the best around compared to “many” other cruise lines. With all that being said.. I love Norwegian!! I always have had a great experience.
