Review summary

Will never cruise with Norwegian again!!! Ship had to little to do for the amount of people on it. We could never find a chair to lay in and the 30 minute rule never applied. To small of pools and not enough hot tubs for families. We felt overwhelmed by the crowds of people everywhere. Just hated the whole experience. Back to Royal we go!!!!

Not enough to do. We were board and frustrated becasue the little bit that was available to do always had huge line ups. So there never go to bowl, play shuffle board nor ping pong. Not enough pool space for kids. I did not find this ship to be family friendly at all.

The Brat Pack was horrible, poorly acted and executed. The ONLY shining star in this cast is the platinum blond female - wow what a voice - and the only reason we didn't walk out. It was a total bore and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Very poor layout of deck space. Far to many people aboard for the size of the ship. I felt completely smothered everywhere I went.

Cabin / Stateroom

For a mini suite this was small compared to other ships I have been on. Beds were great. Pillows were horrible. When we payed down on the bed I noticed splattere stains on the headboard. Gross! I brought Lysol wipes so I had to clean the headboard.

Ship tip

Don't do it. We had free 250 minutes as well as bought a package for my daughter and we were constantly down at the Internet cafe complaining about the connect which was non existent. We were not the only ones. Huge line up to complain and the manager honestly didn't seem to care, he said there was not much he could do about it a lot of people had the same issues. You need better toilet paper. Loved washy washy but get rid of Tyler, we can't stand him.

Some people go down to the pools early and leave their towels there!! Ask one of the staffs to move it,they will happily move it . I bet it’s like it on all cruise lines. So sorry about your cruise but don’t give up!🙂👍🏼🛳

Wow, I guess this wasn't your cruise. Yes, the public areas are too small. I have been on this ship and the sister out of Miami numerous times last year without any trouble. I found the staff to be friendly and attentive. The food was great at all of the main restaurants. If you feel like there are any problems just bring it up IN WRITING to the hotel manager on board. I have done it and moved on with my vacation. Don't make the mistake of focusing in on the negative, if you do you are done for. Put it in writing and they will be happy to address the situation for you on this cruise, not the next one. Again sorry you had a bad time, it does happen across the board on lines, but please remember to make the complaint then and there. Happy cruising. PS: Remember the tips are based upon the performance of the staff, so you can ask that the tips be reversed. I have done this in times past OR reverse tips and pay out in cash to those who really wowed you.

Escape is a big boat. 4000+. Maybe is was timing? We went in Escape for its very first 7 Day Caribbean. It was busy with travel agents but still had a blast. We have cruised other ships and always go back to NCL. Can’t beat the freestyle dining. Hope your next cruise is better.

I have to agree that the chair huggers are a pain. Unfortunate that NCL doesn’t reinforce the 30 minute rule more. If your stateroom was still dirty, why didn’t you just tell your cabin Stewart or go talk to the hotel manager ? But I don’t get how you can get bored on the Escape. Just a look at the Freestyle daily and I know that I won’t have enough time to do everything I want. Like @klcarr said: YOUR vacation is what YOU make of it.

If pool and deck space is what's needed for fun then Escape not for you. I found endless things to do on board. It is a big huge ship, a lot more than just the pool and deck space.

We loved the cruise. It was awesome. Definitely a shortage of deck space but I don't know what they can do about that. We found the ship very clean the staff was extremely attentive and the food was very very good. We booked another Cruise!
