Once I realized I shouldn’t be comparing the service and food quality to other cruise lines and I just lowered the bar I was able to enjoy the rest of my trip. First time cruiser, members of my family, who didn’t have anything to compare it to, thought everything was fine. They thought it was normal to wait in line for literally everything, didn’t understand what fine dining should look like, and didn’t expect anything other than a made bed and emptied trash.
Embarkation

Why assign embarkation times if they’re going to allow anyone to go at anytime. I had 10:30, arrived on time and had to wait 15 boarding groups (about an hour) before my group was called to board. This is like disregarding the fact that I had a reservation.

Buffet was fine but selection was very limited compared to other cruise lines I have been on.
Service in the MDR was terrible. Way too long to take order, bring drinks, even soup was rarely above room temp.
Onboard Activities

There were plenty of activities each day to suit most people. The venues were often overcrowded.

There was plenty of variety of entertainment each day to suit most people. The venues were often overcrowded. I did like the musicians and DJ. Comedy and crowd participation (dueling pianos/karaoke) are not for me, but available.
Children's Programs

I did not personally have kids but saw both my brother’s families struggle to get their kids into kids club. Long queues seemed to be an issue. Perhaps more capacity or staffing are needed.
Service and Staff

Long lines at bars where multiple bartenders polished the glass rather than serve the queue. I’ve never waited in a line on a ship before this trip.
Ship Quality

Even though this ship is headed for renovation there was nothing physically wrong with it. I don’t prefer the layout of the bathrooms in the staterooms but they were clean and well kept. I didn’t think the ship looked dated. It was aesthetically fine.
Cabin / Stateroom

Smallest cabin I’ve ever had. Clean and stylish, just too small for two people.
Ship tip
Seems the mindset on this ship was that only folks who tipped cash at every service got decent service. Kinda defeats the purpose of prepaid gratuities.
They tried to tell me I couldn’t get off after waiting over half an hour in line with all my luggage to try and meet my 8:30 shuttle because they owed me a refundable credit. I had already refused to wait in yet another line to get a small (cash) refund (
