Review summary

First trip on NCL. Have done 6 Transatlantics (Celebrity & Cunard).  Consider NCL more on the budget end of the range, so with those expectations, expectations were met.  Embarkation in Miami was a bit chaotic, but disembarkation in Barcelona was the most efficient I've ever seen.  My aft balcony cabin was "cozy" in typical NCL style, do not like the bathroom set-up, but plenty of storage.  Bar service was consistently excellent with a good wine list.  All entertainment venues were too small for such a big ship, and reservations are required, which involves planning, which is not something I want on a vacation.  I would take NCL again, but only if there were no other option.

Onboard Activities

Really enjoyed the huge variety of things to do - life-size chess board, ping pong, darts in the bar, a 6-lane bowling facility, and plenty of uncrowded deck space.

Going in for a dry-dock refurb this year, and very much needs it.

Cabin / Stateroom

Extra large balcony for this category

Ship tip

Aft elevators much less busy, H20 bar/pool adults only during the day (excellent), seek out deck 18 for a great outdoor quiet space, and when booking a balcony cabin, pay close attention to the configuration - alternate cabins ying-yang with bed by cabin door or bed by balcony door.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Chaos in the terminal as signage was poor, and too few staff to help guide people.
