Review summary

The ship was poorly designed. Most notably... the cabins not only were so narrow (we had a balcony) that there wasn't enough space for a coctail table, but the worst was that we had to (believe it or not) enter the cabin through the bathroom. Also, there was no door seperating the bathroom area from the rest of the cabin; only a thin curtain. If you were using the toilet or the shower, and someone (whether crew or friends) knocked on your door, your cabin mate couldn't open the doorithout disturbing your privacy! This was only one of many design flaws, of which there are too many to list now!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Or 1st night of \"free style\" in the main diningroom\, arriving around 7:30 with 2 young children\, required us to wait on a line for approximately 45 minutes before a table was available. Once seated\, there was a dance band playing music so loud that we couldn't hear any conversation. Also\, this contributed to the long table wait\, because people who arrived earlier and finished their dining\, instead of leaving and vacating their tables\, kept the tables occupied while they spent their evening dancing in the diningroom!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
The \"Legends in Concert\" show was excellent. :The Blue Man Group\" was deafeningly too loud for the small theatre\, the rest of the shows were average.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
With the \"automatic\" tipping policy there was no motivation for the cabin attendents or restaurant staff to \"go above & beyond\"\, and they didn't!

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
The layout was like a maze\, making it difficult to navigate from one location on the ship to another\, Many twisting corridors\, and dead ends. The elevators (when they worked) were too small to handle all of the passengers who wanted to use them. We often had to walk up 4 flights of stairs (deck 11 to deck 15) after several of the elevators that stopped were too full to allow us in.

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
Terrible idea not to have a seperate bathroom (see earlier comment!)

Pros: The cruise finally ending!

Cons: The lack of attention to quality service.

Recommends Norwegian Epic? No.
