Review summary

2nd time going to alaska with ncl but a little disappointed at ncl for their starvation for $. Next time I'll try another company

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Pretty smooth. Felt a little like cattle when we actually started to board the ship but before all that, even with the covid test, it was smooth sailing

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
All fine as expected. Although not as much variety since practically everything was a fee basis type food n drinks

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
First time on a cruise where they charge u to use the sauna in like 10 cruises but pools were clean( considering no one used them, too cold) but whirlpool n pool were too strong in chlorine. But I think ncl is starving for $. Every activity on 18, 19, n 20 was for extra payment

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Great shows as in all other cruise shows n even in the rain, they offered deck parties although we never attended

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Crew was great. Friendly, n polite. Awesome

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
All wonderful. Lots of nooks n crannies for quiet sittings n the observation deck was awesome.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For an inside, didn't feel too small. Very clean

Ship tip

Bring lots of $ if u expect to use their activities

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
As usual, I felt like cattle

From what I’ve noticed in all the research I’ve done Unless you book an all inclusive cruise they all charge extra for specialty dining and many other things, not convinced this is unique to NCL. I suggest lots of research before you choose a cruise line, there are tons of blogs on YouTube you can watch.

If your sail date is really Sept 28,2021 you may be on a different ship. We set sail September 25 from Seattle to Alaska on the Encore. I disagree with your comment about fee for food. We have ate way too much in almost every restaurant and have only paid a modest charge $20.00 for 2 in Ocean Blue last night for an amazing meal.

I agree about the nickel and diming that NCL does for extra things... I would like to see one rate for basically everything and no extra charge every time you're turning around. That being said, I'm cruising this Saturday and I brought a lot of extra nickels and dimes with me :-)
