We had a really great experience. Our expectations were simple, we wanted to relax, not get sick, and enjoy what the ship had available. It helped that we had a drink and dining package. Hardest part was deciding early where we would eat so we could get decent reservations for specialty dining. The regular restaurants were really good too though. Really had a lot of fun and would do it again.

Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I was very impressed with the buffet, not usually a fan but really liked the choices available. All dining was very good.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
I loved the bingo, nightly karoake, and the other game shows. Not a big pool person but I did make it out to the hot tub one night. Very nice fitness center with optional pay by class options.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
I saw the main show, the comedy show, and attended several things with the DJ. All were entertaining and enjoyed.
Children's Programs
I did not bring children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every staff person encountered was polite and helpful regardless of time. Our room steward was a gem.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I really liked the size of the ship. It wasn't too big but big enough to take me a few days to remember where everything was located. The level of cleanliness was impressive everywhere. Had no issues using the public restroom or sitting in any common area.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The cabin was shared by two adult siblings so we split the bed. It was a comfortable space and the bathroom was bigger than I expected. There was only one outlet available in the room but we managed.
Ship tip
No regrets on the balcony, be aware that although there's coffee available at the main buffet and restaurants at no cost, they have a coffee bar in the main lobby that is not free. Same goes for the juice bar at the buffet.
We did a ruin excursion and it was great. Lots of shops in the main area when we came back. It was raining though so we didn't look around much, bought some tequila and tea and headed back to the ship.
This went smoothly and took about 45 minutes. It was my first time cruising and I didn't really what the process would be like. We kept our bags, you had the choice of giving them up. They wind you around the ship in the morning and then the bags are waiting in a warehouse area on your way to security. The only advantage is not having them the whole time you are in line. Security was pretty quick but if you are traveling in a group you can't wait for each other there. That was weird. You have to leave the area and hope they come out.
This is a refreshing review! I have been reading so many negative reviews that I was a little concerned about my vacation on this ship, which is coming up on July 20. Iām glad you had a great experience for your first time on NCL.
Glad you had a good time! I love the Dawn, been on her twice. Very easy to get around once you know the layout. Staff was excellent. We loved it both times.
