Review summary

If you are looking for great service, then look elsewhere. Servers were annoyed when we asked for straws and chocolate milk for our toddlers because they had to go to another deck to get it. At the Venetian, some guests were turned away because they had shorts on, but then others were allowed in with shorts even though the Daily Freestyle said that shorts were allowed. Have a question? Good luck finding someone who can answer your question. We were sent to so many different locations to find an answer to some questions. Concierge app was horrible. We paid extra to message and call each other while on board the ship. We did not get notifications or calls even if we were in the app. We were told that there were different access points and that we would have to close out of the app and reopen it to see messages and wouldn't get a call unless you stayed in one spot and kept your app open. Food was okay. It was not the best that I've had, but there are some restaurants that had some awesome food and desserts! Specifically the Aqua Dining room and Bamboo restaurant. Other than that, the kids did love the Kids Splash Academy and there were some fun activities. Anytime dining was also nice and I did like having the option of dressing up or dressing down. Would I go again? Only if there was a really good deal. There are better cruise lines out there.

You da man! Only if more cruisers felt the same way, my fare would be a heck of lot less than it is. As it stands, they have the ships packed and could less about your complaints.

Been on the Dawn multiple times never had a problem, always enjoyable

Thanks for the review. We're sailing on the Dawn in less than a month and watch for these. Seems a little inconsistent with other Dawn reviews in the last few days, though. (Other than the frustration over straws for the kids.) Interesting info on the iConcierge app. We've not used that before and may decide to not mess with it. Haven't seen many other complaints. We'll see, I guess. Based on our past experience with NCL it's hard to imagine service that was that bad. Like the others, we've always felt the crew and staff went 'above and beyond' in addressing any question or concern.

Same here JM we couldn't have been any happier with service and attentiveness in board.

Shorts were allowed in the Venetian ... but not any shorts. Might be the reason some were turned away. Denim or athletic shorts were not allowed. Golf style and dress shorts. Sorry to hear you felt you couldn’t get assistance. We found the exact opposite experience .. everyone we came into contact with was very glad to assist.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Both times I been on the Dawn I had amazing service and was allowed to wear shorts in the Venetian.
