Review summary

Very nice cruise. A little disappointed in specialty restaurants but primarily because of décor and uninspiring atmosphere. The staff are wonderful and went out of their way to be helpful. Smoking is a problem that I hope you will address.

I sailed on the Dawn before the renovation. The re-design is very plain. The specialty restaurants all look much the same. All with the same wood paneling, décor, for example. I look for the specialty restaurants to be very comfortable, even cozy. They are not. One very significant problem with this ship and likely a reason not to sail with Dawn again is the number of smokers on the ship. I have never been subjected to so much second hand cigarette smoke on a cruise. The pool area was terrible in this regard. We stopped traversing this area to get to the stern because of the smoke. There was far too much smoking in the casino-I have no doubt that you are losing casino patrons because of the 2nd hand smoke. Too much smoking outside on the promenade deck. You really need to designate a limited number of smoking areas and enforce. This is the only reason for the 2 star rating.

Be prepared for a lot of 2nd hand cigarette smoke. Otherwise a nice ship with wonderful staff.

Agree with everything you said about the smoke!! We loved everything else about our trip on the Dawn but because of how it caters to smokers we will never cruise on it again. Very sad.

maybe you should look for a non- smoking cruise line if your asthma is that bad. people smoke..... oh well. if you can't be around it then stay away from it. smokers are already confined to a very limited area so if you have asthma.... stay away from those areas or like i said look for a non - smoking cruise line..... good luck with that. we pay just as much as you do to go on s relaxing vacation.... I'm not about to chnge my lifestyle because some snob can't mind their own business. p.s. i just started smoking a few years ago and guess what?? i didn't bitch or complain about people who chose to.... maybe I don't want to smell alcohol coming off of you or smell your fish cooking or listen to your conversations from my state room....or frim my dining room table... but oh well.... people are on vacay deal with it or just stay home.

I'm sick of hearing shit about smokers... sorry if you think that's harsh but you don't know me so that.... was not harsh. like i said i also pay thousand of dollars for my relaxing vacation. if you don't like the admins stay away from it. we have designated areas.... if you have asthma stay away from those areas just like we jeep away from the non- smoking areas. purple are always trying to ruin things for other people. this is not their world and we just live in it. i wit smoking for 2 years... my husband continued to smoke, my friends continued to smoke. i code not to....i didn't bitch about them doing it though. if it bothered me is go elsewhere...... period.
