Review summary

52 hours on shore in Bermuda out of 7 full days??? Do the math. Tremendous rip-off for thugs price. It's so much centered on money for ever single normally inexpensive or free situation. Add on the aftershock of $200 more in gratuities at the end of cruise and you're all set with Norwegian

Ship Quality

The one pool situation was by far the worst situation. Either it was always mobbed with kids and teens breaking rules , or you simply couldn't find an area to go in and enjoy a dip. There should be 3 large pools for all that time at sea. I'm so sorry that I spent that kind of money on such a lame cruise. Stressful

Cabin / Stateroom

Sounds good. I always study those dailies like a hawk. Wonder why I missed this. Good to know for the future. I got a lottery ticket yesterday and looked for round the world cruises....good to dream.

The day before arriving in any port, they have a port lecture concerning excursions, shopping, general information...... the presentation is typically in the theater and listed in the Daily Newsletter... all cruise lines do this

Never heard of this woman on the ship. But there was one off the ship if you are willing to stand behind 1000 people upon initial debarkation.

No where on the ship to ask what to do in Bermuda?? I've taken this cruise 8 times. Each time, they have a woman who is from Bermuda, working on the ship, who gives a long lecture of what to do, where to go, how to get there, and anything you could ever need help for. She is available to speak with at the discussion, after, and gives you her private extension number, and where you can site down with her to speak with directly, in her office, where she can help/show you on her computer, where a certain beach is, where a restaurant is, etc etc. Every single place just about anywhere in the world has a visitation center, and an online brochure and directory or events, a calendar of those events, and maps of anywhere you need to go. As soon as you get off the boat, there is a visitation center with tons of info and maps. I've learned that all I have to do is ask, and many of the really nice people in Bermuda will help you.

Room was too hot and they couldn't fix. Never turned down room one night. We had sign to turn down and we weren't in the room. Mostly it was housekeeping / maintenance issues. Restaurants did minimum and not attentive to us.

What crappy service did you get? The only thing I can think of is that there is nowhere on ship to ask a person what to do in Bermuda. Instead they try to sell you excursions so you never get the truth out of them. Pity. It would be awesome if a Bermuda Department of Tourism Agent was on board so we could get the real info. But that is the only "crappy service" I can think of.

I agree the time in Bermuda is mapped out for u before u sail. We loved those precious island hours. Downpoured all day on one of the days but we sucked it up and did the cave excursion instead of a snorkel. I do agree with the tipping. Tips should not be a mandatory amount. I prepaid my tips so I would t have to worry but I feel like they got more than they should have. My on ship experiences were not the best. With the crapload of money that these ships make from our ticket prices they should just pay their crew better wages so we don't have to supplement them with 18 percent gratuity. When they know it's automatic it seems like they put in less effort. I'm not saying there weren't deserving crew bc there were. But why should I have to pay 18 percent for crappy service? Who makes out here?

I do understand that the cost of cruises are going up all the time, and you get far less than you used to, included in the cost of the cruise. The itinerary given to you and everyone taking this cruise shows you exactly the hours each day (and what days) you will be in Bermuda. How or why you didn't know that before, while and during your cruise means you assumed something else? That goes for gratuities as well. I may not agree with having to spend so much, but I do know beforehand what I'm going to have to pay, so I choose to prepay my gratuities. Mine was not $200, it was $ 97. (Inside cabin, solo cruiser.) Yes, there should be at least a larger pool. Where do you propose they put in those other 2 pools? Amazed to see only one? I have to believe you didn't read anything about the Dawn before booking and taking your cruise. Perhaps that would have helped you make a decision to take a cruise on a larger boat. The dockyard is right across from the ship. I've walked it many times. They give you a map (which you really don't need), for anyone needing to explore the whole area. You are the only person....ever...to say they couldn't find their way around and it was too far from everything. What exactly is "everything?"

OK here is the math 4pm Friday to 12 Sunday is 44 hrs at approximately. 20mph, that is 880 miles. the return is a bit faster because of the Gulf stream. Anyway the trip is advertised. Don't know what you expected how did you give 4 stars and still manage to complain?

Pyrate    7 years ago

If you pre-paid the gratuities you would have not been left with a shock. Also Bermuda itself really is not all that amazing, I chose this trip for the cruise - the destination was a bonus. I think perhaps you should direct your anger towards your travel agent who did not give you all the details. Personally, I prefer to book myself so I know everything upfront.

Weird.... you chose the itinerary so you shouldn't be shocked at the itinerary..... every cruise line / resort has Daily Service Charges so the $200 shouldn't be an aftershock... that's on you for not paying attention to what you were buying...... the amount of included amenities and entertainment and food and room, etc is a bargain compared to other tourist destination..... I'm appaled that Disney charges me parking and food and souvenirs and bottled water and a poncho (if it rains) after I shelled out $125 for the day....... how dare airlines charge me for luggage and peanuts.... etc.... . you don't get out much do you?
