Review summary

This was my third time on the Dawn. Why? Because I simply love the crew on this ship. Yes, it's convenient as it leaves from Boston, which is a 40 minute drive from my home. Yes, it's Bermuda, and I love the people there. Yes, it's been updated and looks great. But, also, it's the perfect size....neither too big or small. I've been on other NCL ships and this one has the most efficient, considerate, professional, friendly, hard working and pleasant crew. Yes, there are some better than others, but this ship seems to have the same crew members on it year after year, as I recognize many over the years. That's what keeps bringing me back. They make my cruise. When I get off this ship it's  real letdown, because I so enjoy their company. I travel solo. They spoil me rotten, so I never feel alone. You can make positive and negative reviews about the food, entertainment, etc., but you will never have a reason to say anything negative about the crew. I enjoy all of it. I make good choices on the food because I know what and where the food I like is all over this ship. Entertainment is varied and great. Is it a great value? No. Not for solo travelers, and not just because it's NCL. Cruises are expensive with every single cruise line. But the bottom line is, when I get off the boat, I miss the crew. They made my trip.

Cabin attendant Pablo Bernandez is the very best I've ever had:)

Ship tip

Do not get a cabin under the Garden Cafe. You will hear chairs being pulled out all day and it's very loud.

Am booked on my second cruise on the Dawn, first time out of Boston. Any pointers for a pre-cruise stay?

We live in NH and have been on the Dawn to Canada out of Boston and western Caribbean out of New Orleans. Loved it both times! Great entertainment and great food in the main dining room and specialty restaurants. Booked again next May, Boston to Bermuda.

I cruised on the Dawn in December out of New Orleans. It's my favorite ship so far.

thank you, I'm going to use this tip!

I'm assuming your daughter dropped you off where the porters were ...... you just have to take the same route, drop bags off and head to the lot. . If you do park in the garage, advice is to park where they tell you..... people have tried parking on lower levels and come back to find car towed.

What a great post. This is going to be my first cruise and what you said makes me feel that much more excited! Glad you have had such a great experience.

There are 3 parking locations: 1) open air lot (short walking distance to terminal) 2) open air lot (a distance away but a free shuttle) 3) garage (short walking distance but must use top open air level and deal with 1 elevator) - drop off luggage at terminal (where porters take it) then proceed 200 yards and #1 is on left. Pre pay parking and walk back to terminal - $20/day

We are one hour from Boston, so we are driving ourselves there. My question is, where can we park our car for the week, garage, parking lot?

I agree totally. Got off the ship last Friday and can't wait to book another cruise on the Dawn. Even with bad weather the captain and crew made it an amazing trip
