Review summary

If you have ever sailed with NCL on any other ship DO NOT go on the Dawn. We did this cruise 2 years ago on the Spirit and it could not have been more perfect. This time it was such a disappointment.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Waited 40 minuted for PB&J and Mac & cheese at the Venetian and the waitress forgot us at Aqua when the restaurant was empty. The food was good, but no real selection in the dining rooms. The "Signature" Chocolate night was no different than having a piece of cake at the buffet.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Paul Scally needs to spend some time in his stateroom prepping new jokes as he told the same ones from years ago. Justino and Daniella were awesome and Cirque du Jour made the cruise for my family.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Without kids club this vacation would have been a complete waste. All 3 kids asked from the moment they woke up to go up there and would grumble at meals to get back ASAP. They had their faces painted nearly every day, great projects and cool souvenirs to bring back to the cabin to play with.

Service and Staff

1 out of 5
Unfriendly, cranky staff. The Butler was kind and the stateroom attendant was one of the few who was cheerful. Concierge was MIA.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The elevators don't go to every floor. The layout is confusing and the ship had odors everywhere.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The suite was large and comfortable. Great view and plenty of space to move about.

Pros: kids club

Cons: poor service, unfriendly attitudes

Recommends Norwegian Dawn? No.
