Embarkation and the first port day were chaotic and confusing that I was starting to think cruising wasn't going to be for me. The trick is to plan less and jus go with the flow. Yeah you might miss out on most of the shows, but at least you're not stressed about it.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
The terminal was chaotic and confusing. Rooms took longer than expected to be ready.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Some places were better than others. Main Dining was good, and the staff was great but seemed uninformed at times. La Cucina left us disappointed. Cagney's was delicious with great staff who made the dinner experience fun. Maltings Whiskey Bar has great, knowledgable staff! Some other bar staff looked exhausted and miserable the whole time..
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We looking forward to mini-putt, but couldn't find it, we think it was removed..
The pool was always crowded (as expected). Didn't use the other amenities.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Only saw 1 Magic Show, it was good. Figuring our what events required reservation or not, or would require lining up over an hour prior... deterred us from trying to see more shows.
Children's Programs
We don't have children....
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Some staff was super knowledgable and brought entertainment to the experience. Most staff seemed unknowing of what is including in the premium package. Trying to order the "recommended wine" from the daily dinner menu always seemed to create confusion..
Room stewards are spread thin, little time to meet them let alone get to know most of the staff. But they were definitely all trying really hard to make it a great place for everyone.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The soap dispensers in the bathrooms shouldn't be hidden behind a wall. The sensors don't often trigger because of this. Layout was great, it was nice that most floors ran the length of the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Room was nice, didn't feel small. Balcony was okay, fit two chairs facing each other, not the best for lounging but still very nice to have! Temperature control worked well and barely made any noise.
Yep they removed the mini golf. Used to be under the Ropes Course. Bummer.
Were you not able to reserve show tickets using the touchscreens by the stairwells? Sometimes those displays are a better layout than using the NCL App or of course if you don't have a phone at all.
