Review summary

Be real with your guest! This corona virus is serious and if we knew that someone on this ship was sick we could have taken extra precautions, now we are home hoping we don’t get sick! Will never sail Norwegian again! We should get a full refund for this excuse of a trip. Staff did all they could

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

I am still shocked by how many people got on ships after the well publicized outbreaks on 2 separate Princess ships. Thousands of people sharing dining facilities, shows, handrails and elevator buttons. Testing for fevers knowing that some people could take meds to reduce symptoms. Stay off the ships folks.

I don’t think they knew until after docking

Sailed on the Breakaway the week before and had a great experience. Sorry you had a bad cruise. I have cruised with Princess, Carnival and Norwegian I prefer Norweigan. It could have been worse if they quarantined the whole ship and refused to let anyone Disembark.

They opted to avoid hysteria. Considering most cruise ships are under the constant threat of a norovirus infection they are generally sterilizing and cleaning all day anyway and always encouraging passengers to engage in vigilant hygiene. But, people are stubborn and don't listen. Most passengers generally already had ample information to make informed decisions on how to remain as infectious free as possible while cruising. We get that training on every cruise whether there's an outbreak or not and the news admonished people and warned of the possibility. So everyone boarding a ship in March knew of the threat and should have been hyper vigilant and operating as if an infection could break out at any time. Telling people would have resulted in folks onboard being irrational and demanding freebies that weren't warranted.

Yes, not certain what a refund has to do with being told, but definitely should have a policy of letting every passenger know (without revealing names and quarantine location) to make informed decisions for themselves.

I do agree if someone on the ship had it you should have been told.
