I won’t book with Norwegian again! It will be Royal Caribbean from now on!!!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation went smooth. Arrived at Port Canaveral at 11:30 am and was onboard by 12:30 pm. We love going out of this Port.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Where do I start? First off, coronovirus protocol was set. Lots of hand washing and alcohol sprays. You could not get your own plate, silverware or food. Everything had to be handed to you and they got your food even on buffet in the Garden Cafe. Food was poor in our opinion and they should take notes from Royal Caribbean. There was no variety on the buffet - it was the same thing every day. Specialty Dining - we ate in Cagney’s, Le Bistro and Moderno. Cagney’s filet was overcooked and food was bland. Service was mediocre. Le Bistro - first off, the two hostess were rude so that set the tone. The food was good. We weren’t notified that you have to use the first two names
people on the reservation are only allowed to use specialty dining. Moderno - Brazilian Steakhouse. Food was really and service was excellent. Chicken, Steak, and lamb!
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Due to the Coronovirus, most of the activities for kids/teens were shutdown. No rock climbing wall, no mini golf, no basketball, no ropes course. 2 Pools and they are very small.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Burn the Floor and Six were great. The Band in Syd Norman’s Pour House called Switch were beyond amazing!!! I would go see them every night if they played. 80’s band that totally rocked!!
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The Bartenders were great - hands down! Our room steward Ronaldo was excellent! I just had a problem with anyone in customer service at the pursers desk and the hostess at Le Bistro.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
The ship is laid out so poorly. The smell of cigarette smoke from the casino on Deck 7 is throughout the ship. They do their best to mask it but it really doesn’t help. During this time, more cleaning was done which I appreciate.

Ship tip
Don’t book this ship! If u must, book everything early - excursions, shows and dining.
We love Cozumel but didn’t get to make it off the ship this time because of the long lines waiting. They didn’t call our Tender Number until 1:20 and it wasn’t worth it. There were 9 ships in port this day!!
Disembarking from the ship at each port was a madhouse and so disorganized. We waited 2 hours to get off the ship and 3 hours to get back on not leaving enough time to enjoy each port. They really needed to start with the elderly, people in wheelchairs and scooters, our veterans and those with small children. They didn’t take into account of the heat that everyone endured during this time.
To those that commented, thank you.
YES, I did my research and YES, I have 25+ cruises under my belt. Also, yes, we do know the weed is legal in Jamaica but ya know, how would u feel if your kid was offered 11 times. MY KID!!! MY CHILD whose not an adult!
Regarding the Passenger Protection Protocols, yes I am glad they did it and they did it on EVERY SHIP, but it’s what they didn’t do is why every passenger on the ship during THIS cruise that we’re all mad about. They didn’t tell us until after we got off the ship and returned home 3-4 days later to let us know in an e-mail that there was a passenger that was sick, got off the ship in Jamaica on the second day and tested positive for coronovirus. That’s why I won’t cruise NCL again. Bad customer service. It’s now a class action lawsuit.
Cruised on Breakaway February 29th-March 7th. Did not experience any of the things mentioned above. Cagney's was amazing, ate there twice. Tender lines short , only wait was when in Cozumuel getting back on ship, but lines moved very fast. This wasn't a tender just long lines.
Next time you cruise think not of yourself but each and every person also cruising. Cruise lines have to adapt to the environment and what is going on. Would you have preferred getting the Covid virus and being confined for 4 weeks? They took steps to protect YOU!
On big ships, excursions, specialty dinning and shows better be book in advance. That's why NCL sends you emails way before cruising and you can also do it online by loggin in to your account. Sorry that you didn't experience the best of NCL. Cruising on big ships is not exactly the same as on smaller ones. There are pros and cons.
All of the cruise lines pretty much was serving you food in the buffet area last week due to Coronavirus so you would of received the same treatment on Royal since they were doing the same thing.
