Review summary

This was my first cruise and the wife's 5th(first on NCL). She enjoyed it much more than Carnival and Royal. We really liked the Free Style dinning! I didn't want to be tied down to specific dinning times nor be seated with a bunch of strangers. Being an older couple I was worried that I would not enjoy being tied to a ship and the crowds for 7 days but at the end of the day I really enjoyed it and would do it again. I fear that I would be disappointed with any other cruise line other than NCL, based on my wife's experiences.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Being my first cruise I feared the long slow lines for embarkation. All my fears went away as we were quickly checked in and were able to board.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The main dining rooms were very good and had a nice choice. The specialty restaurants we chose exceeded our expectations and were as good as any restaurant in my city. We only had the buffet for lunch when we first boarded and for breakfast, it was as good as a buffet can be.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Being an older couple our main focus was to relax on this cruise. We did have access to the Thermal Spa and enjoyed it immensely.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We did see Burn the Floor and it was a very good show.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff that we encountered were friendly and outgoing, the waiters at the restaurants were prompt and knew the menus well. Hendra our cabin(14116) steward was the best anyone could ask for our room was always spotless and he took care of anything were needed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Once we became familiar with the ship's layout it was easy to get to where you needed/wanted to be. The only drawback was at times the elevators were over crowded and you had to wait. The ship was very clean and well maintained top to bottom.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room was a little cramped at first but we got use to it quickly. Our room was spotless when we first arrived and remained that way thru out our cruise(Thanks Hendra).

Ship tip

Go, relax and have a good time! Remember you are on vacation.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

We flew in the day before sailing and stayed in Coco Beach. We visited Coco Beach Pier walked the beach and had dinner. It was wonderfully relaxing.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
We heard a lot of people complaining about not enough to do and the beach being to rocky. We enjoyed the day just relaxing and I really like the natural beach as opposed to the cookie cutter man made beaches. Being December the water was a little to cold for our old bones.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

4 out of 5
We docked at the old pier which was a little disappointing. We did do the private VIP beach excursion and really enjoyed our peaceful day.

George Town, Grand Cayman

We did the Atlantis Submarine, We enjoyed it. The rest of the day we just walked around the shops at the port and had lunch at the Hard Rock. If you want to do the submarine ride don't book through the ship and save some $$, it is right there at the pier.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Once again we did a private beach for the day followed by shopping at the port. Nachi Cocom Beach Club was perfect they only allow 100-120 people rep day. The beach was really nice and the food was excellent and the beer was cold.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
I would have to say, apart from the long ass line through the ship to exit it went really quickly.
