luckylori for me I enjoyed the complimentary restaurant. If you can my advice is to Reserve your tables online early especially if you have a large group as we were. Late night snacking was the only time I personally went with my husband to the buffet a few times. Less crowded too

We went on our first cruise last Oct on NCL Pearl. We had 4 nights dining, but we didn’t try Cagney. This time we are thinking 5 meals. The Cirque Dinner as one, Cagneys, Ocean Blue, Moderno(was our favorite) and maybe the Italian one again. I’ve just read so many bad reviews about the complimentary restaurants being super slow and food arriving cold. I’m not a foodie either, but I’m I just don’t want to have a long wait and then get cold food. Did the 3 main dining rooms offer different entrees?

@luckylori- I sailed the breakaway twice. All the complimentary restaurants offered a lot of good food but this is always a subject of controversy. I’m not a big foodie and for me, you don’t need the specialty restaurants at all. I’m sailing on the 11/3 Gem and one of the free perks was for 3 specialty restaurants so of course I took advantage. If you’ve never been on NCL- Cagneys is a must!
