Last minute cruise which we didn't want to fly. It was close enough for us to take the train to port. We knew what the itinerary was. It was to relax.. eat, sleep and veggggge! We had no expectations.
We took this line a few times. We were disappointed in the standard of service, food, entertainment. We would compare it to previous cruise.. same line. We'd probably won't return to this for awhiles
Embarkation

Check in was ok. Short wait. After receiving our cards, we had to wait for them to call our group # before boarding. This was a first for me. The last few times I was here, we went directly onto the ship.

Food and Dining

Food was a hit in the specialty restaurants. We booked Le Bistro, Moderno, Cagney Steakhouse. 1st & 3rd were great. Moderno would be a one time experience-salad bar was great but the service were they bring the grilled meat was not so good. We had like 2 choices that came by and at that point, the staff was like, dessert?. Ready to go? We asked for more meat and that seem to make him almost impatient.
Main dining, definitely miss the set dining times. There seem to always be a wait no matter what time we planned. I requested to reserve set time for the nights we didn't have special dinner. The said no, first come first serve. We were ok waiting half hour.. but once seated, it was a bit of a wait for service. I cruised different lines and this line also. Service compared to previous experiences ... definitely have gone down. We are not picky eaters or require a lot of service, but at some point, we just wanted to walk out. Food is definitely lowered in standard. Reduced the variety on their menus. Lunch menu was the same throughout the trip. Some cruise line offer the same fare in their buffet as their main dining menu. The one doesn't and there's some items we wanted to try/have. This cruise doesn't offer the same. For sure less choices in the buffet. I don't want to have hamburgers and hotdogs when we can have that any day. I like to have options of food I cannot make at home and try different foods.
Cagney's Steakhouse

Made reservations before the cruise. We were promptly seated. You can smell the delicious grilled meat... everything smelt great! Service was great, food was good. My steak was grilled to perfect medium rare, sides were small but it was a lot of food. Definitely would try again if we take this line. I hear their lamb is good too!
Shanghai's Noodle Bar

After being seated, it took awhile before someone came over for our orders. The food was terrible. If u can't get Chinese to finish. We sat next to a Chinese family, half the food wasn't touched. We actually saw them in the buffet after.. we had the same idea. We didn't like the food available, so we went to the buffet.

Ship is very clean. Just can't get the smell of smoke out near the casino. Even just in passing when it s closed.. the smell of smoke Is dominate.
Cabin / Stateroom

Room is at a great location.. the entry seems tight, a wall at the door. Room size is ok. Balcony seems tight compared to other balcony rooms I had.
Limited amount of things you can do at this port. If arrival time is earlier, I will say the options increase.. doesn't make sense to travel to Disney or universal. The day we arrived, it rained so outdoor activities were a "no". We took the shuttle to shop. Not many stores but it was something to do and for us to walk around.
We skipped GSB because we couldn't tender. We ended arriving at Nassau early. That was ok. We arrived at 4, we got the chance to walk around downtown.. before all the stores closed at 6 PM. Standard duty-free shops and souvenirs. After the stores closed, we headed back to the ship. I heard some took taxi to hotel with casino. We headed to Atlantis the next AM. Nice place. We bought tickets online, not a cruise excursion. It was cheaper plus we were not limited to the amount of time allowed. Definitely an option to visit again.
