Review summary

This was neither my best nor my worst cruise. My favorite cruise was my first one which was on Premiere (?) which is a cruise line that no longer exists. The food was amazing on that cruise and the entertainment was quite diverse. I loved the entertainment and food on Celebrity. I loved the food and swimming pools on Princess. The food and entertainment on Royal Caribbean were good. I liked Norwegian Spirit better than Norwegian Breakaway--the ports were better. I prefer NCL to Carnival. I haven't tried Holland America or river cruises yet.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
One of the members of our 8-person party had platinum status and I benefited from that.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Excellent, but I missed lobster.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Adult pool was okay.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
I loved Burn the Floor. The singing was good in Rock the Ages but I did not like the vulgarity and hateful comments about one nationality. The Second City comedy was a waste of my time and the seats were very uncomfortable.

Children's Programs

There were no children in our party of eight people.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was good. Many gave fantastic service but unfortunately I cannot provide the names. It is rather frustrating that the tips are just added onto the charge card and I have no control over how the tips are distributed.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The bed was very comfortable. The cabin was very clean.

Ship tip

Get a good night's rest before leaving the ship. Follow NCL's website's guidelines before booking your flight home---you need more time than you think to get off the ship .

Ports of call

New York, New York

3 out of 5
This port is close to home. I don't do excursions.

Port Canaveral, Florida

2 out of 5
I don't do excursions. They cost too much.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

5 out of 5
The only things I didn't like were the big rocks and the slanted angle of the lounge chairs. Swimming in the calm water was fantastic. This was my favorite port.

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
I don't do excursions. They cost too much.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
It was long, tedious, and very tiring. There was a long line. We had to weave in and out of the casino.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

I don't have my past cruises listed in my profile since all I want is info on my future cruise ports and ships. Seems a bit strange that this person's favorite line/ship was on one that no longer exists. Things usually don't go away because they're too popular. To each their own.
