Review summary

From the minute you walk on the boat until you leave there is tons of food and drinks available. I really like the free style dining so you can eat on your own schedule. If you can get the ultimate beverage package as part of cruise package for free that is a huge value. The boat is new and rooms are very nice. Even when at sea for 2 days we always had plenty of fun stuff to do. The staff is nice and always try there best. If you driving into the NY port area I recommend the Hilton garden hotel in NJ -stay one night and you can leave your car parked there and they will shuttle you to the port. The only caution for this cruise is they will charge a service fee of $13.5 per day per person - so for us with 4 people in the cabin I was surprised by the $350 charge.

Very nice and new and clean - large bathroom with luxury shower. The room Stuart was excellent. Loved having the balcony.

Ship tip

When you get out of a show or come in from an excursion walk to the opposite side of the ship and you wont have to wait for the elevator.

was the shuttle to the cruise port out of Manhattan or somewhere else?

JillianMo    7 years ago

I think we might take your advice and stay at HGI. How much was the shuttle? How far away was the hotel? Must be less stressful in the morning.

I think they still pit the tips together and share with the rest off the workers..on my last cruise on the sunshine we wanted to tip our waiter extra besides the basic and he says we will have to put it together and share...just FYI

you can waive these fees if tipping on your own. i prefer tipping directly to those that are assisting us.

tcnrh: as mentioned, this 13.50 daily service charge is an industry standard and is very well documented on the NCL website, your confirmation and finally your eDocs ("things to know" section)

Hotel they are probably referencing is: - Hilton Garden Inn Ridgefield Park - 70 Challenger Rd - Ridgefield Park, NJ 07660
