Review summary

Nice cabins (we had a balcony). No covered pool!!! It's cold sailing out and to New York. Don't plan being outside much (first and last day) if sailing anytime from October to March! Buffet is good, regular restaurant is below average cruise. Menu is not very appealing. Cabins are clean, personnel is nice.

Thanks for sharing your cruise.

I think passengers should educate themselves on the process and follow them since they are typically a huge part of the mess both embarking and disembarking... How much more can a cruise line do to "help" disembarking? - arrive as scheduled - make ship available for proper officials to board and inspect - have cargo holds open for port authority to enter and unload ship of luggage - stagger passengers disembarking by using a color code system

Embarkation and disembarkation color the whole cruise experience. It's important that the ship does everything in their power to help the port authorities get it right.

I agree that the menu lacks inspiration.  I had to force myself to pick something, just anything to eat.  All the items are made of very cheap ingredients--lots of starch and pasta.  Another thing I caught on to is that portions of items that are on the dujour side of the menu reappear the next night under the appetizer section, but served cold.

Yes i too dont understand why if sailing out of NYC year round they dont have covered pools. We have never had any issues with the menus or the food arriving cold. Personal have always been helpful and polite. If you treat them the way you want to be treated they will treat you nicely. They work long hard hours and it really doesnt take much to say hello and thank you to them.
