Review summary
I a person with anxiety of cruises (being stuck on board a small city with a bunch of idiots) was very unhappy with the company I was with on the ship, my now X who was pure hell to be with. His family were awesome. The ship in general was great. The only problem I had with the staff was a stupid guy on the ship what was one of the people that check what you bring on board from the island who ruined my mermaid tail that I was using on a commercial I was shooting on the island, when he did not know the easiest way to get sand off of something was with talcum powder and he then scraped a silicone tail that took over 500 hours to make with a sharp plastic tub and ripped holes in it. I admit I flipped out at that guy and then later took a container of baby powder down and told them they would have much happier travelers if they took care of their problem of keeping their precious sand on the island by using something simple like baby powder. They actually took the powder and my advice.
Unfortunately it was too windy and the plank was closed most of the days of the trip but I did get on one day. There was no problem with over crowding. My biggest problem was with some obnoxious jerks from NYC that would not shut up when they were giving safety instructions that I actually wanted to hear during the time leaving NYC port. As well as the problem of them not serving food during the time before they left port in NYC. My jerk of an X refused to help me find any food or drinks and had kept me from being able to eat the morning we boarded and I had low blood sugar and ended up passing out while in search of something to eat while my jerk X found beer. The Captain actually was passing by me (lost on a balcony alone) when I went down and took me to the O'Sheehan's and ordered them to give me a tuna melt and soda thank Gods.
Yes they try to sell things on the ship constantly and what not. The slides were limited due to a technical issue. But service was terrific and here is how I know...
When it comes to the fight that broke out on the ship that is spoken about in another review titled "ATTACKED ABOARD NORWEGIAN BREAKAWAY - AND THEY TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY" The reason there was no one around when some drunk guy was going after that guy's gf was because they were with me. I have a number of health issues and I had a seizure in the hall near by them, during this fight. I had collapsed in a hallway and they, including my X carried me to a safe place and took care of me during and after until they were sure I was recovered. I unlike the baby that needed Neosporin for a cut on his nose (everyone who cruises, like he claims, knows to bring your own first aid kit and that they charge for the infirmary) I knew they charge for seeing the doctor and any medical help you get. I and my X knew I only needed a few minutes to recover from my seizure and to go lay down in my bed. Also they are very understanding and if this man had the knowledge any one who cruises does he would know the charges he is seeing are for his trip to the infirmary. Educate yourself before you get on a ship and knowledge as they say is power.
The ship had about 2/3 of the rooms full and as such was not over crowded as some claimed, which was a fear of mine. The bathroom in our balcony state room 14858 was awesome. Singing in the shower never sounded so good. I would go back just to record songs in the shower and I am in fact planning to do so with my husband and I am pricing which site to buy from this time currently.
The dance classes are great and I can't wait to go again this time with my husband and dance partner. I know that the experience of being on the Breakaway will only be a million times better without someone who is a jerk and with someone who is all about spending quality time together and not drinking. For once I won't have to be the sober one and we will both get to enjoy the unlimited drinks package which I do like and recommend as well as the dining package. See the show Burn the Floor it is TERRIFIC! The Cirque was Spectacular will be seeing that again. Also I highly recommend the Karaoke in Fat Cats nightly. I will spend as much time as possible on the Plank as I only got to do it 1 time before. As a smoker it is difficult but if you know where to go on the ship ( outside of Fat Cats is my favorite spot) you can manage to smoke without hearing anyone complain about it and your vacation will be enjoyable even with non smokers on the same ship as you.

Ship tip
The sun deck and fat cats are the best places to go if you want to smoke a cigar or cigarette. If you want any shells or things you find off the beach (put it in your bra)&bring baby powder to get sand off of everything b/c they'll destroy anything sand is stuck on, its illegal to take sand&shells.
