Review summary

Overall the cruise was good. Service was always at hand and food readily available. I would recommend booking some of the complimentary dinners ahead of time so you don't have to wait in long lines during prime time dinner hours. Some of the people on board were irritating in public but that's what you have to deal with on such a large ship. However, nice lady did give my boyfriend and I two free tickets to the circus and dinner show after she won it in a contest and already had plans with her family to do something else. However, when we used it the staff actually charged us even though it should have been waived. We later realized this on our statement which we were extremely annoyed about. Being in our early twenties, we did find it difficult to find some things on board for us to do during the day. I do recommend the martini tastings though. We also had a lot of fun at the Florida Beer Company (excursion at Port Canaveral). As for the comedy shows, we went to a lot of them since we weren't into gambling most of the time at the casino. Second City was funny but we did go to a couple of shows were they did the same previous sketch as a night before. In the future, if we plan on cruising again we may go on a shorter cruise where there are less days at sea as we enjoyed traveling to the Bahamas but the long ride back with no stops made us feel a little more seasick as we approached stormy weather.

If you have a tendency to get seasick take Bonine( NOT Dramamine ). Start taking it the night before the cruise leaves & I promise you you will not be seasick ! My husband and I did this as we were on the heels of hurricane Joaquin this past October & weren't sure how we would react to rougher than normal seas. Thank goodness we took it . A lot of people sick, not us. And Bonine is no drowsy !

I just got off the Breakaway today.. The experience was amazing. The crew was great. The food amazing. Even the Garden Cafe which is the buffet was good. We saw 3 shows, Burn the Floor, Rock Of Ages and the circus type performance at the spegel tent. The shows were very good, but Rock Of Ages being our favorite, NOT intended for kids so I would advice not to have your kids see it. Cagneys steakhouse is a must try. The excersion to the Kennedy Center was a let down as we didn't arrive until after 2pm and had to be back on the bus by 5. Lines were very long. The private island, Grand stirrup is beautiful but can be a rocky 10 minute ride on the tenders. We did the Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon Island. That was the highlight of the tour..It's a 40 minute ride from the pier in Nassau to the Island, along the way you will see the estates of Michael Jordan, Oprah, Tiger Woods and Eddie Murphys private Island. The staff on this island are great people who really enjoy working with dolphins and Sea lions. So that was our experience on the Breakaway, if you're going soon make the most of it, you're on vacation have fun. One other word of advice is book the specialty restaurants, shows online before the cruise. Happy New Year!!
