Review summary

I have  cruised on a number of different cruise lines for many years.  This was the worst cruise that I have ever, ever taken.  Never again!  For 12 days I felt like I was spending a Saturday night at the mall with crowds of people roaming around, a la carte restaurants displaying their menus, and photographers begging to take my picture.  The food was not only badly prepared and presented (sauces and, in most cases, dressings were mixed into a dish with no opportunity to have them served on the side...you had to take it as it came, like it or not...) but worse, the quality was unbelievably poor.  Meats were so tough they were almost inedible.  Disembarking from the ship took several hours, and the taxi lines, across the street (!), wound around the block.  That said, the crew was the finest that I have seen on any line, and my cabin (disabled) was spacious and comfortable.

all experience on the Norwegian Breakaway fabulous. the crowds minimal waiting in line, not extensive. The food loved it try the Manhattan if you find a problem the problem is looking at you in the mirror. the spas incredible. folks complain but life is you get what you pay for don't be in the gully of the boat expecting the haven it's not going to happen. made wonderful folks just wonderful from all over the world we all enjoyed each other there's an old saying put up or shut up and enjoy your trip.

We are from Eastern Connecticut we enjoyed the 11 day cruise on the Breakaway. We only cruised one other time. it was on the RCI Oasis of the Seas. My wife and I enjoyed this cruise much better. We dined in numerous specialty restaurants so we didn't experience fatigue from the dining hall menu. The New York crowd were fine in our eyes. It's what you want to make of it. I read a number of negative comments on this board from those who were dissatisfied. I don't disagree with their perspective. It's just I think there are many satisfied guests who just don't take the time to comment about their experience.

Anyway @Tedzang. I know what you mean about feeling like your at a mall. Since we did the Breakaway in February, 2 days going and 2 days coming back were spent indoors since we had snow storms. it definitely feels crowded when the outdoor decks are closed. That could be why you felt that way. I'd like to try it again in the warmer months to see how it compares.

Nice language. You're putting down people who you don't even know, yet now cursing someone else you don't know. Talk about class. Still haven't told us where you're from.

And you too asshole.

I did the Breakaway last February. There was mixture of out of towners and Europeans. The casino is in a bad place so the entire deck smelled of smoke. I also find that the type of people traveling depends on the time of year. I try to go January/February. There seems to be a more mature crowd and less kids (not that I'm old lol). I also find Royal Caribbean to have a better crowd than NCL or Carnival but that's my opinion

Then maybe it's just him that would be too much for 12 days. There is no need to apply that comment to all 4,000 people because of just one. Sometimes it's not what you say, but how you say it.

My comment was meant to be tongue in cheek. My brother in law is from Brooklyn & is a nice enough guy, but 12 days would be too much. It sounds like you had a whole different class of travelers on your cruise.

exactly!

Exactly, there is good and bad in everything, and everyone!

I agree @4ria some NYers have absolutely no class. i but people shouldn't judge an entire , based on some bad apples. it's not right. I've been on cruises with many obnoxious Europeans but I don't judge the entire continent based on those few.

that's exactly how we felt. I agree with everything you said. A ship with 4000 Smokers and Gamblers. I'm from NYC but these cruisers are low class for sure. You have know Idea what I heard from the cabin next to me. and also the drugs they were doing. Very disappointed with the NCL Breakaway.

I wonder where you're from.

That's not nice...

12 days on a ship with 4,000 New Yorkers. No thanks.
