Review summary

We love to cruise out of NYC, makes it very easy and convenient to travel since we live in upstate New York.   We hoped the in-room TV selections would have been better, entertainment onboard was not that great (we've had better on other Norwegian ships) and the desserts were okay, also better on other ships.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Rock climbing and zip lining were a nice touch on the ship. Also miniature golf was cool.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
A bit disappointing not a lot of entertainment compared to other Norwegian ships we have been on.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Seemed okay, my daughter is not a fan of group children's programs, she is more the one-on-one type of kid so she did not utilize the program.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was great, very roomy and the large balcony made for a great view and extra outdoor space.

my last post should read* I'm not too worried about the cost * the price of the train and the parking garage will cost about the same for 3 people from where I am coming from. just wondering how difficult it is to navigate once I hit the city. thanks☺

louisaredman, traffic in New York is always busy. Your best bet is to take a train to the Penn Station and to take a cab or a bus to the pier.

I'm too worried about the cost, I expect it to be outrageous. I'm just wondering how difficult it is to drive to the port once we hit the city. how awful is the drive itself?

louisaredmman, I asked our travel agent the same question as we are from shoreline Connecticut. He said the train would be best then a cab to the ship. He said it is $45 a day to park at the dock.

I'm from up upstate too, Albany area. How much of a hassle is it to drive to the pier? We are debating driving or taking the train, the cost would be about the same.

I have yet to sail on this ship but I hope to do so someday.  I was surprised to read that the entertainment was not so great.  I would expect that a mega ship like this could afford top notch entertainers.
