Review summary
The cruise ship is beautiful. We have been on a Disney cruise, and 2 Carnival cruises prior to this cruise. Nothing compares to the service and enjoyment on the Disney cruise. I had heard that Norwegian was a step up from Carnival, and appearance wise I guess that is true, but the service is definitely not. Our room steward was awesome. But the restaurant staff is not very friendly in any of the many places to eat. The food takes forever to get to you, so plan on waiting for a while once you are seated. This was true of not only the free restaurants but the specialty ones as well. The food was good, but no better or worse than on any other cruise line. The entertainment was good, there was always something going on for the adults. We were with our son and his 2 friends, who were all 19, and there was not much to keep them entertained. There is a special area for little kids, a lounge for ages 13-17, and everything else is 21 and older. Left the boys a little bored at times, especially since we went in early March and the weather was pretty chilly and windy on at sea days so it left them inside a lot. I think they should designate a lounge for that age group as well. We stayed in an inside stateroom to make the trip cheap for the college boys. They had a stateroom adjoining ours, which was convenient. The rooms were small though, even just for 2 people. But the bathrooms were nice and surprisingly not as small as expected. The private island was my favorite, beautiful and relaxing. We visited the Kennedy Space Center on the Port Canaveral day, which was really cool to see. We had been to Nassau before, and it was ok. We really wanted to try the ropes course, mini golf, pools, but it was always too cold and windy. Overall, a good trip, but when travelling from New York, I would not recommend leaving in a cold weather month. It can really restrict your ability to do things on the outside of the ship, and with a few days at sea on the trip, this was disappointing.

Ship tip
As a vegetarian, I always have a hard time finding something I will eat. There was plenty to choose from here and the veggie burgers at the Uptown lounge were great. Plenty of salads, pastas, etc.
