Review summary
This was our 5th NCL cruise, so we kind of knew what to expect in some instances, for example the dining room food. This was adequate at best. We have never had a great dining room experience in any of the 5 ships we have sailed on. On the other hand, the specialty restaurants were great. We decided to give the Breakaway a chance in their dining room, as we have done on all the other NCL ships, but it did not disappoint, it was poor. The shows we saw were great, especially Burn the Floor, however, there were nights when there were no big production shows like on other cruise lines. That left of course, THE CASINO. Speaking of the casino, it was placed in the worst area I have ever seen on all of my 22 cruises. It was circular, with steps in the middle, and people trying to get to the other side of it, so it made for lots of confusion, noise and crowds. Very poor designing. We enjoyed a mini suite which was nice except there were no drawers to speak of. As on all other NCL ships, there is only one pool for the adults, which is not enough for 4000 passengers. All in all it was not a bad cruise, however, we will definitely think twice before going on NCL again.

Be sure to see Burn the Floor, Rock of Ages and Jungle Cirque. Also, try the hamburgers and salads on the 16th deck, outstanding.
