Review summary

It was terrible. A cruise to nowhere. NCL only makes it to their private island 20% of the time. Bait and switch!

Embarkation

3 out of 5
Disorganized but got on board quicker than expected

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Food was good particularly the specialty restaurants

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Fitness center way too small. Over crowded all day everyday. Since one of the stops was cancelled the pool was packed. Had to lug deck chairs up one deck and make our own space

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Beatles were excellent. The band Siglo and Southern Broncos also fantastic

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our steward Evie was phenomenal

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
Ship, particularly elevators were a mess

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Same size as all balcony rooms we've had on NCL. Comfortable bed. Plenty of room for 2 people

Ship tip

Be prepared to vacation with a lot of little children and their parents who are taking a vacation from parenting. I never saw such bad behavior!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

1 out of 5
Waste of time to stop here. NCL should stop 2 nights in Nassau. Kennedy Space Center is great but NCL excursion give you a measly 4 hours to see everything. You need at least 8 hours

Nassau, Bahamas

2 out of 5
Spent the day at Atlantis which was outrageous for a day pass. Cab drivers swarm as soon as you exit the pier looking to rip you off.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas Did not visit port

Seas were too rough to tender passengers but, NCL knew this before we left NYC

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Disorganized!!! Got in line AFT... moved with the line FORWARD only to wind around back to the AFT part of the ship. Took 45 minutes to disembark

Orlando 2 nights port stop, worked out for a lot of families. When I was returning to the ship on the first night, I observed a lot of families leaving for Disney Magical Kingdom. This was a great opportunity to see Disney at night with parade and fire works etc. Your vacation is what you make it out to be. I was disappointed with Great Stir Up Cay, but if it meant missing it for safety reasons, I will not complain. Hopefully NCL can build a Dock in the near future.

Sounds like cruising isn’t for you. Most people love it, but it’s not for everyone. Many tender ports are missed due to wind / weather by all cruise lines, especially in winter. As stated in the cruise contract, no ports are guaranteed. I’m not sure how NCL knew they would not be able to tender at the private island before they left NY or what they could have done about it even if they had known. It’s not always easy to change ports since other ships may already be scheduled there.

There's nothing they can do if the waters rough. They can't bring you to another port because that's not your itinerary. You knew when you booked you had 2 days in port Canaveral. There's so much to do there to fill the time.

You really had me thinking that you were on a cruise to no where which I have been on and enjoyed it to the max.Iam so sorry that you really didn't enjoy yourself as much as you would have liked!
