Disembarkation was also delayed. But overall I would recommend. Service was great!

Vancouver is worth staying a few days. We stayed in North Vancouver and it's much cheaper than downtown. We rented a car from Hertz to see Vancouver and gas is $4.61 per gallon when you convert the money to U.S dollars. The rate was $1.25 U.S to Canadian dollar. Take to time to see the Aquarium in Stanley Park in Vancouver. This is a must see at any age and well worth the money. Juneau was fun and Tracy's Crab Shack is a must try. I bought my girlfriend a 3 carat diamond ring while in Juneau at Diamonds R Us and they had the best prices of all the jewelry stores. Ketchikan is an old fishing village that they turned into a tourist trap! The trip down the inland passage was wonderful. We saw sea otters and seals and a wolf on shore and 1 whale close to the ship. You don't need to take a whale watching tour in either city you will see enough whales during your cruise. We wish we would have taken a cruise in June instead of May. We were really looking forward to going fishing for Halibut but it was too early in the season.

We had a wonderful cruise! The staff was amazing and the food, was awesome. The Main Stage Entertainment was great. The BB King All Stars were phenomenal.

The ship was lovely, fellow passengers considerate, the seas calm, the service good, the food delicious. What could be better than that?

HAL appears to be cutting back on everything. The many corporate partnerships obviously limits the cost to and responsibility of the line . HAL provides the space, and the corporation provides the personnel and program. The cutbacks are pretty obvious to any long-time cruiser. It's not that the partnerships are bad: Microsoft, Lincoln Center, America's Test Kitchen, etc., but along with these, HAL needs to step up with the parts for which it is responsible, mainly evening entertainment. Would not be my first choice cruise line. Product is okay, but it could be better.

Very enjoyable and relaxing cruise which is common on most crossings as you get lots of sea days to do some serious relaxing. Ship is a bit outdated with some much needed improvements pending soon. I hope. Food is up to expected quality and entertainment has improved over the years and is much better than it was a few years ago.

We have travelled on many Cruises and were pleased with Holland America and would certainly travel with them again if the right destinations came up.

Captain was wonderful and all of the staff very friendly. Enjoyed Test Kitchen and many events on the ship

Great cruise except weather ruined visit to Auckland and bay of islands ship had to re route to avoid cyclone. Wanted a cruise with an average age group of about 50ish however the average age on this ship would be in the 70s. Can’t see why there would be a night club or basketball ball court when so many elderly cruise with this company. Was told the ship is very similar to celebrity ships. Afraid not even close. Still an enjoyable cruise but the pace was a bit too slow for me.

For our first cruise it has made us want to do many more. Well done to all on the Noordam in achieving this. Keep up the great work.

Overall, It was very relaxing and well organised. Holland America has an air of reliability and we met many passengers who had sailed with them multiple times. We missed two ports and almost missed a third because of storms and it was rainy several days. March is probably not the best time to visit NZ. The day at Milford, Doubtful and Dusky sound was beautiful. We didn’t get much opportunity to use our balcony because of the weather, so not certain it was worth having it. Taking everything into consideration, the cruise was very good value.

This was my first cruise, so nothing to compare to, but others onboard had said the ship looked tired (Feb2018). I had read it was due for refurbishment, but I enjoyed my time onboard. The food was great, the bars were plentiful, the cabin was comfortable, the crew friendly and helpful. On my cruise it was a charter so we had our own entertainment and parties which were amazing. I took to life onboard and can’t wait to sail again.

Great cruise. Really enjoyed it. Only thing missing was duplicate bridge although there was party bridge.

Trip of a life time. Excellent excursions, food and service crew. Loved the shows and especially the piano bar with Stryker. Constant promo and extra charges tiresome though

Was on bucket list to see New Zealand and Austrailia, check. A long and expensive travel to get there so won't be going back. Glad I went though. Probably would have enjoyed a few longer layover so could have gotten to the interior of the country for a day or two.

Amazing cruise. Would do it again in a heartbeat. The highlight was New Zealand, especially Milford Sound, NZ has the most beautiful landscapes I have every seen. Some of the ports had extra fees for buses to get to the town, that shouldn’t be an extra charge. Some were included, some weren’t. I love the cleanliness when the staff handled our food, I appreciated no cross contamination.

Beware of large group shore excursions. We were disappointed with these as the vendors were not equipped to handle the large groups and too much time spent getting onto and off the bus! Lesson learned - only small group tours for us in the future! Also, Fiji and New Caledonia were not the island paradise venues we were expecting. Very poor countries and it showed, especially in Suva. Wouldn't get off the ship next time.

Very disappointing for our expectations of Holland. We heard so many great things and the quality of ship and crew. We checked with several other passengers to see if it was just our experience or not. Unanimously everybody agreed with our experiences. We think our 2 top were. One the lie that ship was updated in 2015.Second was the Cruise director Andy. My top was when we had our veterans meeting and Andy showed to greet us (which seemed like he was being put out by attending for 2 min). There was 96 year old WW II veteran and he asked if the Captain was buying the first round of drinks (which would have been impossible as there was no bartender) and Andy stated that wasn't going to happen. The WWII veteran stated that every other cruises the Captain (of which he had been on 30 cruises) had bought the first round. After a few back forth comments Andy stated if did not like it take another cruise line to which the WWII vet said that was fine and be his last cruise on Holland. Andy said he would go get a bartender and an hour later no no bartender. Probably never cruise on Holland again.

We loved our cruise on the Noordam in Alaska! Had a balcony suite which was very nice and spacious. Food was excellent. Favorite hangout was Crow's Nest.
